No bro literally go on facebook call a woman a dog, report back how long the ban takes
Call her anything.
Then make a fake female profile
Facebook isn't the government, though.
Ah, free speech meets free market. I like that one.
Go say whatever you want. See what happens, its because of the social climate, the bend the knee, its all gonna be gone soon trust.
Pick which one you don't want us to have. Until then, businesses will do what they like.
The same goes for rules of one's hearth. You can't just call someone's wife egregious things and feel like your protected to remain on the property.
Now if you were talking about facebook being a public space to express political opinions, I'd be more indifferent.
It's a long shot from your example though.
Facebook is a small example, of the biggest problem.
I believe freedom of speech gives us freedom of venue to exercise it. I'm booked Thursday but will be giving a lecture on it in your living room on Friday.
I think political opinion and expression should be protected.
I don't think personal discourse should be protected.
That's really the line for me.
It is.
Do you think it will if they are allowed to have govt officals calling for lists to be made
It isn't on large platforms like Facebook, that's his point.
Your right to swing your arms ends at my nose. Those businesses can trespass anyone they like. They don't need a reason. Feel free to withdraw your patronage, imo.
Many have tried, but they're controlled by conglomerates and practically have a functioning monopoly.
Easier said than done, I'm afraid.
If they feel it's bad for business, how they see it, it's their right.
Just wait until the opposition infiltrates Parler. We'll see how that position holds up.
And they will
Ehh, debatable. We live in the internet era where social media is so ridiculously important to everyday living that it's practically become the public space for many.
That's why I am willing to compromise with protecting political expression, but allowing personal discourse to be moderated.
consume terror, according to Pasolini
Facebook isn't running out of lawsuit money any time soon. If they think they will, the people who run it can just shut down and cry themselves to sleep on top of their mountain of personal gains.
Facebook isnt the only issue
It's a reason why they're being taken directly to the senate.
And no lawsuit will protect you from new legislation.
Or redacted legislation.
They're going above lawsuits, have for some time.
It cuts both ways. People will be baking more wedding cakes, at least.
I'm against that as well, as that's forcing someone else to do something, not just tolerate something.
Facebook is in a unique position where it's the new public discourse.
Which is the only real exception I have.
Special pleading.
Not really.
I can't see not foisting the logic elsewhere.
