2020-11-17 03:53:28 UTC

The only thing I have in my house that I can find is Essay Concerning Human Understanding. I'm assuming the argument is contained therein.

2020-11-17 03:54:19 UTC

It is remarkably unhighlighted. Lol. Makes sense.

2020-11-17 03:54:19 UTC

2020-11-17 03:55:23 UTC

Hobbes, like Plato, occurred at the end of a bloodbath of a civil war. Both created philosophies emphasizing the security of order and centralized authority because of their experience of societal breakdown and violence. Locke occurs in a rare time of peace and prosperity, so his approach is for decentralization. And I haven't taken a course in 30 years, so running on the conclusions that came out of them.

2020-11-17 03:56:14 UTC

thats good also keep up to date on new stuff

2020-11-17 03:56:17 UTC

I didnt even know they made Bi-focal contacts i may need to look into that...

2020-11-17 03:56:31 UTC

Running on the conclusions is an Aristotelian principle. I remember that much, I think. Lol

2020-11-17 03:56:49 UTC

Been 20 years for me.

2020-11-17 03:57:06 UTC

2020-11-17 03:57:36 UTC

My, there were school books I could not wait to dump. For example, my accounting text book was from Arthur Andersen - the accounting firm for Enron.

2020-11-17 03:57:55 UTC

Hahaha heros

2020-11-17 03:58:31 UTC

2020-11-17 03:58:37 UTC

@osok Certainly. As a history major I have been calling this an uncivil war now for 6 years.

2020-11-17 03:59:17 UTC

2020-11-17 03:59:54 UTC

Had fun in school. Speaking of taking back. Met the guy that invented the Happy Meal for McDonalds. His ad contract for that was 1 penny for every happy meal sold - ever.

2020-11-17 04:00:06 UTC

yea that oxymoronic phrase Civil

2020-11-17 04:00:30 UTC

It makes sense in Latin - not so much in English.

2020-11-17 04:00:31 UTC

I imagine he is not disappointed with the return.

2020-11-17 04:00:35 UTC

2020-11-17 04:03:25 UTC

Maw comes and goes. Maw is mysterious.

2020-11-17 04:03:34 UTC

Well, I found my ability to think clearly improved greatly once I was no longer pole vaulting out of bed in the morning. Age helps. Now that I am "Walter", things seem much more clear.

2020-11-17 04:04:27 UTC

2020-11-17 04:04:45 UTC

2020-11-17 04:05:03 UTC

Some time I will have to toss in my posit on why the Left cannot be American. Liberals, in a Classical Lockean way can be, but not Leftists.

2020-11-17 04:05:49 UTC

Sounds like a Prager U paradigm. No offense. I'd like to see it.

2020-11-17 04:05:50 UTC

I was lucky to go to a public high school that taught classical Latin as a foreign language option.
