The oath, etc.

2020-11-19 02:59:30 UTC

Naming conventions.

2020-11-19 02:59:54 UTC

@ArtisanShrew Telemedicine is a necessity these days I suppose. I am of the opinion that if you dont have to be in the same room as the pt, one can wonder how necessary the consult is.

2020-11-19 03:00:17 UTC

They still use latin pretty extensively too.

2020-11-19 03:00:42 UTC

@Maw Correct. We honour the greeks by naming pathology after them, and the Romans by anatomy being latin. So a cardiologist does his rounds in the coronary ward....

2020-11-19 03:01:03 UTC

'Yup. Your head is bleeding.'

2020-11-19 03:01:08 UTC

😄

"youre babbling, it sounds like Brocas aphasia. You are experiencing a stroke. If you can understand me at all."

2020-11-19 03:01:47 UTC

Hahaha

2020-11-19 03:02:01 UTC

How do you mime stroke? Rowing a boat?

2020-11-19 03:02:15 UTC

@Doc - I completely agree with you 1000%! One positive thing I Believe came from coronavirus is that it propelled telemedicine into a better place now it could be excepted as the norm. Even after coronavirus I had a difficult time getting one of my doctors to allow me to see him via phone. Finally I just told him straight up that my husband has sarcoidosis and previous bouts of pneumonia and valley fever left scars in his lungs so I would rather not be potentially exposed by physically visiting his office for something that only takes five minutes/renewing my prescription.

It's kind've like german, it's a very literal language. lol

2020-11-19 03:03:43 UTC

The same goes for naming conventions for doctors.

2020-11-19 03:03:49 UTC

It's extremely literal.

My contribution to the intellectual exchange is 'I love Family Guy'.

2020-11-19 03:04:43 UTC

@ArtisanShrew well, the problem there is the court system will come down hard on the doctors when some screwup kills someone, because the webcam wasnt HD.

2020-11-19 03:05:17 UTC

“where it is now accepted as the norm...” sorry. I am dictating to Siri and she’s making me look like an idiot who doesn’t know how to spell! (I would blame my terrible grammar on her too but that’s all on me) lol

2020-11-19 03:05:17 UTC

@ArtisanShrew, you just advanced to level 3!

2020-11-19 03:05:54 UTC

Lol that will be taken into consideration for your grade.

2020-11-19 03:07:28 UTC

I know right!?! 💁🏻‍♀️ “Doc” here has me fumbling over my words - while I try to sound “smart” 🤪

2020-11-19 03:07:48 UTC

He likes to dust off his lexicon from time to time.

2020-11-19 03:07:58 UTC

Yeah I have up on that a couple days ago. It was liberating.
