Ok I'm getting a sense of it now. I was way off.
persimmon is great for building as the trunks are pretty straight and the wood is very dense.
Oh, there is a reason they used to make golf clubs out of it. Strong.
Persimmon has one of the highest BTU ratings for wood too. great for heating
Prolly cuz dense. Makes sense. We don't exactly have large stands of persimmon trees. Good amount of oak though.
By not exactly large stands, I mean none.
Our acreage is partially wooded (about 3 of the 5.7 acres). Many varieties such as walnut, oak, pecan, douglas fir, pine, etc.
I would not have complaints about a handful of pecan. Lol
Lots of whitetail deer, wild turkey, pigs, geese. Small pond on the property too.
... and those dang coyote...
We have concrete and pet animals.
gotta chase them off once in a while by firing a few rounds at them.
We actually have coyote too. They come out of the forest preserves when the food gets low and snatch up little rat dogs n such.
There have been reports of a mountain lion about a mile south of here but I haven't seen any yet.
We definitely don't have those.
But, a mile south, the neighbors have chickens and goats so...
Lol yup. The wild ones know where their bread is buttered.
Across the dirt road are plenty of cattle so if bad becomes worse and everything shuts down, I know where my steaks are coming from.
Sounds like a good survival plan. I don't think that's coming. People are just butthurt. The economy isn't collapsing unless someone pulls the right pins on purpose.
Well, there is the "Great Reset" where it is said they need to collapse the entire world's economies in order to establish it. At any rate, I'd rather be prepared for any contigency than to be caught unprepared. We have lived it, and not just knowlegde on how to survive. Experience is the best teacher. Also, we have tornadoes in this neck of the woods and storms can cause outages for days or weeks.
I believe you are capable, don't get me wrong. It's just that the great reset seems like a fairy tale to me.
Whether it happens or not, I really don't see it affecting us.
You didn't get the funnel cloud. Lol
In the video above, we no longer have the PT Cruiser, but sold it. We have a 4 wheel drive Trailblazer now. The trailer you see on the right is where our massive food storage, 4kW generator, gasoline, water filters, crossbow with bolts & broadheads, solar charging system backup, extra clothing and bedding, and many other supplies are stored.
But thanks for the phone alert in the middle of dead calm. That was startling.
yeah, it was there but was at the beginning of its formation. it wasn't a coherent funnel until it moved closer to Okemah, OK
I had my volume on high and you started getting texts. Lol
here is another view of the same tornado
As long as it's daylight out and there is a tornado, I'll go outside and video it. I wish I would have walked the 300 ft to the front gate to get a better view of it.
Reminds me of when I was stationed at Ft. Riley, KS. We had a handful there.
I have a meeting in like 7 hours. Need shuteye. Take care.
Here is another view of the same tornado
Alright, ttyl - - sleep well
@Bey, you just advanced to level 8!
