Also... we see the left taking to the streets, burning down cities for their cause. They actively take action to make things happen as they wish it, and so it happens. I believe that all eukaryotes have telomeres, though they do not all have the enzyme telomerase which regulates it. Prokaryotes do not have telomeres, older single cell organisms whose structure developed in a manner that is more forgiving of lost DNA during cell reproduction.
