When it's happening on your soil, you're prone to care multitudes more.

You would care a lot more if bombs were going off in your back yard or in your state a lot more than you'd care about them going off in the middle east.

I'm talking about general humans.
It is 100% normal to care more about things closer to you than further removed from you.
It's not suggesting you don't care, it's suggesting you care more about your family than you do some random people in Iraq.

Substitute close friend with family in that instance.

I'd help strangers here just as well as anywhere else if I had the means.

People have become reliant on services and retailers to live. Without them, a majority would die.
E.g: Someone harms your wife. You'd want to seriously harm them. Someone kills someone in another country in an unjustified way. You feel bad, doesn't mean you don't care (kinda the opposite!) it just means you'd care more about people harming people close to you.
What's the real point here, though?
