Any of y'all got a Steelcase/Herman Miller? Debating between the two.
Realize it's probably not in the /csg/ mindset price-point, but y'all are the only /g/ Discord I had to ask.
do they really have that much difference
those chairs are anyway stuff you should go and test sit
before pulling the trigger
id take the steelcase due i personaly hate german miller :D
but thats not about quality nor longevity
:P

motherfuckers
Couldn't find anything nearby that had them, and I'm kinda at an in-between size on the Aeron, so I'd need to find both sizes to really try it. Plus return policies.
yeah go test-drive them
and check warranties, repair parts etc etc
and do the test drive properly
take a laptop/book
sit hour or so at the bench like you normaly would
sure it sounds silly
not for some "i sat on it 5 minutes its good"
>spending so much time sitting you need to have fancy chairs
The problem is finding a place I can try 'em at. Wasn't able to, I'll try more before I purchase, but didn't find any good options really.
@johnfrum It's 50/50 that, and my current chair is pretty worn. I take care of my stuff well, so if I pay double for something that lasts 3x as long, it's a better deal long-term.
chairs/beds/etc are stuff you hopefully buy for life
so testing and sinking money on them is not that bad of investment
Oh, score, yeah, Herman Miller covers return shipping, and Steelcase at least has a return policy, so I can just order and try them. At $1k+/chair, eh, I'll risk having to pay return shipping.
(sure beds need re-springs and stuff but yeha)
Do people rebuild mattresses?!
True, but for something with as many miving parts as a modern ergo chair its closer to a car, you can keep it running but at what point do you just upgrade like a normal person.
when it no longer serves your needs ?
or is safe
What's to upgrade to? The Aeron came out 26 years ago
Also I am a cheap fuck but I have also never heard of rebuilding matresses
<:thenk:329322130804047872>
some matresses have easy-to-open seam
so that springs can be switched for different style springs and stuff like that
Steelcase Leap(1999) and Herman Miller Aeron(1992) are the two I see recommended the most.
best program to ez transfer files from PC to laptop?
also enables you to repair said springs
