@Goz3rr hit p w/ aimtux today

2018-08-22 08:19:54 UTC

Any of y'all got a Steelcase/Herman Miller? Debating between the two.

2018-08-22 08:24:11 UTC

Realize it's probably not in the /csg/ mindset price-point, but y'all are the only /g/ Discord I had to ask.

2018-08-22 08:25:15 UTC

do they really have that much difference

2018-08-22 08:25:28 UTC

those chairs are anyway stuff you should go and test sit

2018-08-22 08:25:33 UTC

before pulling the trigger

2018-08-22 08:26:00 UTC

id take the steelcase due i personaly hate german miller :D

2018-08-22 08:26:11 UTC

but thats not about quality nor longevity

2018-08-22 08:26:12 UTC

:P

motherfuckers

2018-08-22 08:26:31 UTC

Couldn't find anything nearby that had them, and I'm kinda at an in-between size on the Aeron, so I'd need to find both sizes to really try it. Plus return policies.

2018-08-22 08:26:51 UTC

yeah go test-drive them

2018-08-22 08:27:01 UTC

and check warranties, repair parts etc etc

2018-08-22 08:27:21 UTC

and do the test drive properly

2018-08-22 08:27:26 UTC

take a laptop/book

2018-08-22 08:27:41 UTC

sit hour or so at the bench like you normaly would

2018-08-22 08:27:44 UTC

sure it sounds silly

2018-08-22 08:27:55 UTC

but you are there to buy thing just for that

2018-08-22 08:28:03 UTC

not for some "i sat on it 5 minutes its good"

2018-08-22 08:28:10 UTC

>spending so much time sitting you need to have fancy chairs

2018-08-22 08:29:01 UTC

The problem is finding a place I can try 'em at. Wasn't able to, I'll try more before I purchase, but didn't find any good options really.

2018-08-22 08:30:11 UTC

@johnfrum It's 50/50 that, and my current chair is pretty worn. I take care of my stuff well, so if I pay double for something that lasts 3x as long, it's a better deal long-term.

2018-08-22 08:31:29 UTC

chairs/beds/etc are stuff you hopefully buy for life

2018-08-22 08:31:38 UTC

so testing and sinking money on them is not that bad of investment

2018-08-22 08:31:58 UTC

Oh, score, yeah, Herman Miller covers return shipping, and Steelcase at least has a return policy, so I can just order and try them. At $1k+/chair, eh, I'll risk having to pay return shipping.

2018-08-22 08:32:03 UTC

(sure beds need re-springs and stuff but yeha)

2018-08-22 08:32:15 UTC

Do people rebuild mattresses?!

2018-08-22 08:32:28 UTC

True, but for something with as many miving parts as a modern ergo chair its closer to a car, you can keep it running but at what point do you just upgrade like a normal person.

2018-08-22 08:32:53 UTC

when it no longer serves your needs ?

2018-08-22 08:33:00 UTC

or is safe

2018-08-22 08:33:04 UTC

What's to upgrade to? The Aeron came out 26 years ago

2018-08-22 08:33:15 UTC

Also I am a cheap fuck but I have also never heard of rebuilding matresses

2018-08-22 08:33:25 UTC

<:thenk:329322130804047872>

2018-08-22 08:33:58 UTC

some matresses have easy-to-open seam

2018-08-22 08:34:13 UTC

so that springs can be switched for different style springs and stuff like that

2018-08-22 08:34:16 UTC

Steelcase Leap(1999) and Herman Miller Aeron(1992) are the two I see recommended the most.

2018-08-22 08:34:19 UTC

2018-08-22 08:34:19 UTC
