I would actually like to point out part of the reason American society has become much more secular and less based around Christianity can be attributed to the incentives that capitalism (I’m not a socialist so don’t mistaken me as such) has brought onto the American people.

2020-12-05 21:45:31 UTC

It has incentivized a hyper-individualistic, consumerist, and hedonist culture because of all the products it provides. It might have helped with basic necessities like food and water but it’s also eroded our previously more traditional Christian culture

For instance, when the invention of the automobile occurred and people were buying cars, there was a skyrocketing of shotgun marriages because you had a lot of 18 year olds having sex in the back of cars. The invention of birth control means people can have sex without any worry of repercussions (a child being born, granted I would rather if degenerates are to be promiscuous to take contraceptives rather than cause an abortion). And cellphones/computers have allowed for the mass production and accessibility of porn (I don’t think I need to explain how much of a detriment this has been for men)

2020-12-05 21:50:50 UTC

Capitalism is useful for producing an abundance of products but it doesn’t have any inherent moral goal or priority as to what is done with the products or wealth it creates

2020-12-05 22:48:19 UTC

most Groypers arent crazy pro capitalism for these reasons

2020-12-05 22:49:47 UTC

I think groypers are pro capitalism but not absolute free markets

2020-12-05 23:03:51 UTC

we have problems with it but definitely arent socialists

What woke me up to this issue prior to ever considering myself as a Paleocon was way back when I was a libertarian-conservative and I followed a YT channel called 1791-L (or 1791 now, and they’ve become discontinued because youtube was fucking over their monetization or some shit). They made a video called “The Tucker Carlson, Ben Shapiro Split” that was a real redpill on the ramifications of globalized, free trade capitalism

2020-12-06 00:42:04 UTC

I suggest you guys check it out, it’s a really well done video

2020-12-06 01:12:35 UTC

Just did, it’s very well done. Did they go somewhere after their demonitization

2020-12-06 02:41:12 UTC

Americanism was, in the years around 1900, a political and religious outlook attributed to some American Catholics and denounced as heresies by the Holy See. In the 1890s, European "continental conservative" clerics detected signs of modernism or classical liberalism, which the Pope had condemned in the Syllabus of Errors in 1864, among the beli...

2020-12-06 02:41:23 UTC

what does this mean brothers

2020-12-06 04:45:56 UTC

Afaik, they have been discontinued since the last video uploaded on their channel. I vaguely followed/knew about them back in 2017 where they were a much more “libs mad” channel and taking some more mainstream Republican positions on gun control and BLM and had tons of clips however a lot of those clips I think they removed/privated and the videos that stayed were largely more well-formatted videos on politics and culture.

2020-12-06 04:47:19 UTC

But since then, they’ve become discontinued because of how Youtube was hurting their views and monetization so they no longer make content and all their content can be gained through some paywall they have on Gumroad. I can’t recall the specifics of it all but you can probably find their merch store and website on google

2020-12-06 04:47:39 UTC

Their website from what I remember had the reasons for why they became defunct

2020-12-06 04:50:11 UTC

The 2 main creators behind the channel are Christian O’Brian (He goes by COB1791 on Twitter) and Lex Villena (He goes by lex_net on twitter and LexCorp on Youtube where he has some of the songs he’s produced for the 1791 channel that are there)

It may work if you are an individual but from a political overview and societal standpoint people have turned away from god. Some people have turned in demonistic plagues and degeneracy but most people are just normal people who are moral and have some hang ups like pornogrpahy and sexual promiscuity. And no man is perfect according to the bible.

If i lead my life by entirely the bible but disregard metaphysical elements like god, jesus preforming miracles and prophets, simply because it's too far fetched. You can say I'm picking and choosing but I'm only picking and choosing the stuff that is of this earth which i believe to be the only thing that matters how i live my life. I can understand the stories and parables without believing in god. If you are gay you are often involved in gay orgies, bathroom sex, degeneracy, mental health problems. This is an obvious reason that is apparent to me and why it is the wrong thing to do.
Obeying your parents is obviously correct because as a child they know more than you and as an adult, they have faught for you and they deserve your respect.

2020-12-06 17:12:30 UTC

"Forgiveness" clears your mind and allows you to be at peace again.

2020-12-06 19:38:59 UTC

Again, you are picking the moral laws without acknowledging the moral lawgiver. This won’t work since you can dismiss any rule you like whenever you like. Saying no man is perfect is no justification for people being promiscuous.
Picking and choosing what you think is of earth ignores that Jesus literally came to earth, died and was resurrected. Without him doing those 3 things the church would never have existed. Without him doing those 3 things the bible wouldn’t have a New Testament.
You also ignore that morality, human nature, justice, perfection, philosophy, and metaphysics are not of this earth either. Having a purely naturalistic philosophy is broken and simply wrong.
Many of the parables centre around what God is like, what heaven is like or how God will judge. These things are incredibly important to how you live your life. You are just picking and choosing what you feel like.
As for your examples you are choosing best case scenarios for when you know it works. You ignore when a parent is bad towards a child, or when someone lives with their partner faithfully for years without getting married. These are still covered under the laws but I would suspect that you consider the “common sense” to be flexible and in certain cases you would ignore it completely without consequence.
You are watering the bible down very much. Your philosophy is broken and I doubt you have a coherent metaphysical explanation for what is.

I got a question: What do Catholics believe gets them saved? Just wondering since a lot of you seem to be genuine Catholics at least

2020-12-06 22:33:11 UTC

I can’t tell based off google whether or not they believe in a works based salvation or not. It’s probably more nuanced than I think it is. Could someone explain?

2020-12-06 23:32:12 UTC

You must have valid baptism to initially be saved, after that you simply must not be in mortal sin

2020-12-06 23:37:00 UTC

True

2020-12-06 23:37:44 UTC

Be baptized in the catholic church, and dont die in a state of mortal sin

2020-12-06 23:39:24 UTC
