This is actually mentioned specifically in Psalm 146, "Put not your trust in princes, in mortal men, in whom there is no help."

Unfortunately we will see many Christians who fail to live up to what God wants of them. When one of us fails it hurts us collectively and when we succeed we strengthen collectively.

Don't get discouraged by those people, but rather try to be a representative for the opposite way of living.

If you live a virtuous life then that will speak volumes of your own character and make up for their own failings.

Just think of the people that you could inspire by your own actions in the same way those people discouraged you through theirs.

That doesn't mean you have to be as explicit about your lifestyle as they are
