2018-09-04 01:33:06 UTC

2018-09-04 01:33:17 UTC

I'm trying to decide between IT, ME and EE @Mirurin (真的華人時刻)

2018-09-04 01:33:48 UTC

Also which kind of EE you doing @Joldberg

2018-09-04 01:33:55 UTC

Power or electronics?

2018-09-04 01:34:18 UTC

i concentrated in RF-Design but no jobs in rf over here

2018-09-04 01:34:37 UTC

so the next studying would be optics

2018-09-04 01:34:45 UTC

but again, not jobs

2018-09-04 01:35:01 UTC

damn

2018-09-04 01:35:11 UTC

all companies want replacements

2018-09-04 01:35:15 UTC

tfw don't even know what I'll specialize in after my graduation

2018-09-04 01:35:16 UTC

Where's here?
Also does that mean you will go to college again?

2018-09-04 01:35:29 UTC

Also is IT or ME in more demand than that?

2018-09-04 01:35:32 UTC

they want “subject matter experts”

2018-09-04 01:35:34 UTC
2018-09-04 01:35:46 UTC

my hands are way too spaghetti for surgery

2018-09-04 01:36:13 UTC

also, it's a long way to go, I'm just a first year

2018-09-04 01:36:14 UTC

2018-09-04 01:37:03 UTC

2018-09-04 01:37:15 UTC

🤔

2018-09-04 01:38:06 UTC

For the zoomers:
You got a machine, ancient code, but machine works fine.
Now machine has a probem, but it isn't produced anymore.
So would you rather buy a new machine, maybe even gotta replace the extending machines, maybe even the whole complex, or hire some dipshit to fix your ancient code so machine works as always?

2018-09-04 01:38:56 UTC

probably explains why companies haven't started adopting EYPC en-masse tbh

2018-09-04 01:39:31 UTC

adopting != replacing your server farm

2018-09-04 01:39:31 UTC

I heard you can easily migrate from older to newer xeons with minimal downtime

2018-09-04 01:39:42 UTC

err, migrating*

2018-09-04 01:39:43 UTC

EPYC is actually very succesfull right now

2018-09-04 01:40:57 UTC

And as server continue to grow in demand(speed) and older sockets becoming useless, EPYC will be even more succesfull

2018-09-04 01:41:15 UTC

It's just not a vibrant market as any consumer plattform

2018-09-04 01:47:25 UTC

@xxxxx i’m east coast in the usa. i don’t see myself going back to college unless it was for a phd, most phd programs get enough funding to pay the students loans and get like a $500/month stipend. I’m working on my digital(embedded) for about 2 more months and have 2 killa projects then work up on my analog knowledge. looking to apply to startups in about 2-3 months/or asking some old-fags to be their apprentice like bunnie huang or forest mins

2018-09-04 01:50:07 UTC

What degree do you hold currently?

2018-09-04 01:50:23 UTC

electrical and computer engineering
