so in other words, you're saying IT disciplines, generally?
no, I just assumed you like IT
`why do people desperately want to keep old software alive`
Zoomers gtfo
I wanna get into pharma drug manufacturing one day
at my place it’s cause the same team/dude has worked their for 20-40 years using that language
fucking boomers
so you’re being hired to replace this old bro
I'm trying to decide between IT, ME and EE @Mirurin (真的華人時刻)
Power or electronics?
i concentrated in RF-Design but no jobs in rf over here
so the next studying would be optics
but again, not jobs
damn
all companies want replacements
tfw don't even know what I'll specialize in after my graduation
Where's here?
Also does that mean you will go to college again?
Also is IT or ME in more demand than that?
they want “subject matter experts”
my hands are way too spaghetti for surgery
also, it's a long way to go, I'm just a first year
just train it
kek
o
honestly if you want pharma chemists usually do that no,
brb shower
sorry
just noticed the clock
could still change to pharma if I wanted to
🤔
For the zoomers:
You got a machine, ancient code, but machine works fine.
Now machine has a probem, but it isn't produced anymore.
So would you rather buy a new machine, maybe even gotta replace the extending machines, maybe even the whole complex, or hire some dipshit to fix your ancient code so machine works as always?
probably explains why companies haven't started adopting EYPC en-masse tbh
adopting != replacing your server farm
I heard you can easily migrate from older to newer xeons with minimal downtime
err, migrating*
EPYC is actually very succesfull right now
And as server continue to grow in demand(speed) and older sockets becoming useless, EPYC will be even more succesfull
It's just not a vibrant market as any consumer plattform
@xxxxx i’m east coast in the usa. i don’t see myself going back to college unless it was for a phd, most phd programs get enough funding to pay the students loans and get like a $500/month stipend. I’m working on my digital(embedded) for about 2 more months and have 2 killa projects then work up on my analog knowledge. looking to apply to startups in about 2-3 months/or asking some old-fags to be their apprentice like bunnie huang or forest mins
