but the jasmine rice is actually imported from Thailand
and it somehow costs more on Thai websites than in the local shop in Switzerland
is automated rice farming the future?
my only theory at this point is that we get the lowest-tier rice because people here don't care
probly 2nd tier or so rice
what does not meet the restaurant criteria
they usualy sell those dirt cheap
makes sense from that standpoint
kinda tastes the same though...
But the fully-automated rice farm in Italy is pretty cool
their round rice is quite sticky (a lot of starch) and perfect for sushi
I like jasmine rice the best but I eat so little rice a 5kg bag lasts me for 3-4 months
rice "should" taste pretty much the same specialy if you dont have godlike tastebud density
but the texture on them changes
unironically most of my carbs come from bread and pasta
I like jasmine rice, too, while my girlfriend strongly prefers to use round-rice for everything like the Japanese do
Medium grain is best all around.
long grain is the best
i have litlebit of everything on my kitchen
round-grain is for weebs
and sushi
dog tastes like shit
it's meme
yes dog is disgusting
would never eat again
this
I didn't know it was dog and while eating it, I thought it was extremely overcooked, old and dry pork with a bad smell
needed to check local prices
2kg of long grain is 1.32 euros
0.66/kg
not that bad
Switzerland-tier prices
you can't really find rice below 2$ / kg in Taiwan for some reason
logistics are different probly
and they need to make living too
we usualy check against "supermarket prices"
where logistical chain is whole other level compared to asian countries
but yeah average price around here seems to be 2euros/kg or higher on any better rice
then the local asian market rise on 20-50kg bags
