@Stims VRChat avatars are basically a whole unity gameobject without scripts in it. Using certain shaders (which ARE allowed) scripts by the sdk, you can break other folks game by causing their GPU to attempt to render impossible objects within unity.
This is called a "crash gun"
Some folks even found a way to inject scripts into their avatars iirc
