@Lloyd Owen why didnt the north just put en economic blockade on the south instead of invading?
hey @Free2Think
hope you are feeling well
Better, ty
yay ! 🥰
Have to ask Lincoln
Hi @Free2Think 👋👍
@Lloyd Owen can't he votes for Biden now
I've been watching your links @Free2Think thanks 🙏
😂😂😂
Amen, he was a proponent of big taxing govt. The South. Man for man, had the best soldiers in history, but every time they won a battle they lost men they couldn't replace
Lincoln brought in 300K from Ireland and the same from Germany and had a mass of freed slaves
Lee was a screwup on offense as was Braxton Brahg
*Bragg
I read that Custer was no military genius, he just threw wave after wave of men regardless of the losses involved
and split his army against a larger foe
Yeah at little big horn
After they'd marched solidly for 2 days or something aswell
sounds like a glory hunter to me
Yep
Right. He was never cautious, liked to swing a saber in front of his horsemen. He hung 6 Confedates one time, so they turned around and did the same to some of his
Lloyd I could listen to you talk about US military history all day man, and I mean that for real
Yeah same, I could too.
No worries Free 😁
welcome back @Free2Think
After I found out how untrue most historians were. I read upwards of 80 Civil War books. If we'd sent a couple of million true Civil War books to Germany and Japan, they might have thought twice about fighting us.
wow 80 books that is awesome
Ken Burns missed some good facts on Vietnam, too. The photographer who took the picture of the SV officer shooting a prisoner during the Tet Offnse, said. 20 years later that he wished he'd never taken the picture, after finding out what the prisoner had been involved in.
I know the pic you mean, I definitely saw that documentary
There's two party's going on one here and one in links lol
Hehe
The prisoners was among a group who butchered a large family and all their servants
Communism in action
Yeah right
Lloyd do you think the Vietnam war was at all winnable for the US?
hope you don't mind me asking you these questions
Was it even meant to be winnable...
AMEN 👍👍👍
@Pablo Snaggletooth interesting, you are saying that the deep state wanted a prolonged war to wear down the resolve of the USA and the rise of liberalism to undermine national and family values?
@Pablo Snaggletooth that is a very interesting point I never thought of that
We didn't actually lose it. After Watergate the dems took over Congress and cut off funding of the South. -- resulting in a million deaths in Laos and S. Vietnam. -- zburns left that out, too
Potentially yes but I'd say follow the money...who benefitted from it? Not the GI's, not the Vietnamese, not the American people.
