Same party I smashed my phone just before, I met this girl

I'd only ever seen her at the same birthday party one year before, and back then, she was with a guy

but we chilled in the host's room and just talked for what felt like *hours*, and ended up cuddling

host (my best friend) was like "whoa whoa, she's taken", and we were both just like "myeh"

'cause y'know, she'd left that relationship she was in a year ago

but yeah, figuring this stuff out is weird

in that moment, though, it just clicked - yeah

ah, right. the girl's in my cohort, studying the same course, same class and same units as I am

i think we got along quite well

but i'm not sure if that has any deeper meaning or that she was just being nice to me, like all others

I think the line between just being friendly with you and being into you can vary a lot

If they're generally a really friendly and outgoing person, it's hard to tell, and sometimes those kinds of people are ace so they're not into anyone at all

Otherwise, it's pretty straightforward to see if she's let her guard down for you

stuff that's as simple as maintaining eye contact shows that they're actually interested in what you're saying, but at the same time, that might not have any romantic attachment to it

I haven't dared make any moves that might be considered too suspicious/alert her guard

if they're playing with their hair, laughing at something funny you might've said, naturally getting kinda close... then yeah, that's also good

her kind, bubbly exterior makes her resistant to my analysis - I can't read her thoughts as well as others since it's really not obvious at all
