post

2016-07-21 06:38:37 UTC

gotta open it first

2016-07-21 06:39:30 UTC

The only real chink shit I went and bought immediately after seeing it was the BM-700 cause I was using a crappy little $6 mic from target due to my old headset dying

2016-07-21 06:39:59 UTC

I just grabbed 4 bm-700s

2016-07-21 06:40:20 UTC

Where you the one I saw post with 4 of those, a mic stand and something else in the picture earlier today?

2016-07-21 06:40:29 UTC

were*

2016-07-21 06:40:32 UTC

If you want to do a little diy they can be upgraded to much better mics.

2016-07-21 06:40:41 UTC

Fuck I haven't even had my whiskey yet

2016-07-21 06:40:47 UTC

Does the bm-700 require phantom power?

2016-07-21 06:41:00 UTC

2016-07-21 06:41:02 UTC

Yes

2016-07-21 06:41:03 UTC

It really does if you want it to be loud enough for people to hear

2016-07-21 06:41:32 UTC

But my moms boyfriends a musician so he's got lots of old sound boards laying around, and those use phantom power by default

2016-07-21 06:42:06 UTC

You can also source some old amature gear for cheapish localy

2016-07-21 06:43:00 UTC

More than likely I could have, but there was a box of stuff in our apartment storage and I asked if I could rummage through it for something to power the mic

2016-07-21 06:43:38 UTC

Yeah, did you find a mythical 3.5mm phantom power or is it xlr?

2016-07-21 06:44:34 UTC

It was xlr but he's been in the music business for years, so along with a couple soundboards where a ton of xlr to xlr cables

2016-07-21 06:45:07 UTC

were* why do i keep doing "where"

2016-07-21 06:45:13 UTC

fuck my hands man

2016-07-21 06:49:54 UTC

I have the mic setup with a neewer mic stand, because I didn't think to look on chink sites for one for some reason, but it still wasn't exactly expensive, my only issue is that without using like, rubber bands, I can't have it angled down, unless im missing something

2016-07-21 06:50:27 UTC

cause it'll just slide out the bottom if its above me, if you get what i mean for where its placed

2016-07-21 06:52:10 UTC

chink dice

2016-07-21 06:52:19 UTC

Normally with a stand you get a shoch moumt which holds it in place.

2016-07-21 06:52:58 UTC

The BM-700 came with its own shock mount, but it doesn't appear to be tight enough to hold it there while angled down

2016-07-21 06:53:10 UTC

....kek

2016-07-21 06:53:28 UTC

Looks like you got chinked. Was it the plastic kind?

2016-07-21 06:54:21 UTC

yeah it was plastic, but again, it came with the mic, for $11 I wasn't gonna complain, I just hold it in place with a couple hair elastics my ex somehow populated my bathroom and bedroom with

2016-07-21 06:54:40 UTC

Yeh

2016-07-21 06:56:21 UTC

I'd recommend the mic to my friends if they cared at all about how horrible their headsets are and that I'm always complaining that they somehow breath directly on it half the time but... *sigh*
