about the same performance anyway
I've always had Sapphire cards. But I wanted one with an 8 pin power connector. Only brands that did that were gigabyte, powercolor and msi. The Asus ones were in stock for days since apparently Noone wants them.
What
1 x 8-pin AUX Power Connector
says so on the item I ordered
For a Sapphire rx470?
Oh shit it does.
Oh well, it's been out of stock this whole time.
Well here it was in stock the MSI one was like arrives new stock 6 August
So the most logical choice was Sapphire am I right?
You got a 4 or 8 GB?
Don't see the point in saving some money on the 4 GB model
gotta have those nicer textures
Didn't see the point on paying an extra 50$ on the 8gb.
Yeah the 4 GB should be good enough if you are happy with normal textures
But if you want higher ones you need more memory
I plan on this just being a placeholder card anyways, the 7950 is going into a build for my nephew.
So you waiting for HBM2 cards?
Kinda yeah.
As Intel can't really upgrade much more with current CPUs
but AMD can
I also needed one to play with for research on future builds a friend and I are planning.
Gonna try and make some monies building computers on the side.
Did you see that video from the closed viewing amd had?
Zen 8 core engineering sample was a hair faster than 6900k in a blender image rendering clock for clock @3ghz.
Kind of an obscure benchmark though.
I will take all this with grain of salt
I do hope AMD manages to pull something decent
but...
I don't want to get over my head
Near haswell speed with skylake features would be amazing. Anything better than that would just be jizz in pants stupid.
MUH CORES tho
8 cores and hyperthreading like tech
>implying you don't want more than 4c/8t
shows as 16 cpus
fuck this 4 core bullshit
we need more cores
8 should be minimum in high end desktops ;^)
I have an 8 core ivyb xeon in my system right now.
