so whenever i see "just use irc," it really means "just use nothing"
nobody wants to use irc, i don't know why, i don't think its bad and while it isn't as 'feature rich' as discord, its /g/ as fuck
I use irc all the time. But it requires a specific kind of person
it's dead, so people won't use it regularly, so it will stay dead
Usually someone who's mostly fucking nuts
It's probably because it doesn't natively have any offline messaging / scrollback.
Other things are nice, but not immediately impactful.
Setting a znc isn't hard but it requires autism
