on other corner is expensive laptops what are powerfull but cost that 1700+ easily and look saner

2019-06-10 20:12:50 UTC

then the last corner of the balance triangle would be cheaper but long lasting laptops what dont have that performance but do have sane looks and do their job still when its needed

Do mass produced gaming PC's actually have good power for dollar? Like the prebuild desktops?

Or are we just talking the shitty laptops that shove high tier CPU & GPU in a bad thermal environment and have bad display and keyboard to make up for cost

2019-06-10 22:54:31 UTC

Yes

2019-06-10 23:41:35 UTC

@Julian recommending Ryzen is fine, but don't recommend those TUF machines

2019-06-10 23:41:45 UTC

The cooling is ass and they powerlimit the processor to stay cool

2019-06-10 23:42:20 UTC

Back on 8th gen Intel they would limit the 8750H to 25w when it needs more than 45w to see it's full potential

2019-06-10 23:42:37 UTC

@Cad no, just laptops

2019-06-10 23:43:20 UTC

It's been a while since I even looked at prebuilts so for a split second I'd hoped something changed lmao

bros

2019-06-11 07:37:53 UTC

amd navi was supposed to destroy ngreedia

2019-06-11 07:37:55 UTC

what happened

2019-06-11 14:57:35 UTC

AMD happened

2019-06-11 14:57:43 UTC

What did you expect?

2019-06-11 15:14:08 UTC

but

2019-06-11 15:39:10 UTC

fake news

2019-06-11 15:39:15 UTC

amd is dead and bankrupt please buy intel and nvidia

2019-06-11 17:15:21 UTC

@Windatica I wonder who could be behind this post

2019-06-11 19:12:46 UTC

even if amd did something better than nvidia games would for some *mysterious reason* run worse on them

2019-06-11 21:37:18 UTC

gamers... i just want cheap gaming hardware

2019-06-11 21:39:24 UTC

you could build something decent for like 350 quid mate

2019-06-12 12:43:45 UTC

a friend bought a patriot burst ssd for very cheap (about $50)

2019-06-12 12:43:47 UTC

how good are those?

2019-06-12 12:44:04 UTC

how big is it

2019-06-12 12:48:37 UTC

i don't understand why people think $50 SSDs are "very cheap"

2019-06-12 12:48:44 UTC

you can literally get several name brand SSDs in that price bracket

2019-06-12 12:49:08 UTC

about 480 gb

2019-06-12 12:49:12 UTC

i mean

2019-06-12 12:49:15 UTC

that's not very cheap

2019-06-12 12:49:18 UTC

that's the amazon price

2019-06-12 12:49:22 UTC

it's on amazon for $45

2019-06-12 12:49:23 UTC

oh ok

2019-06-12 12:50:29 UTC

amazon reviews are filled with people not getting anywhere close to the advertised 540MB/s write speeds

2019-06-12 12:50:33 UTC

more like 70-170

2019-06-12 12:50:35 UTC

on an empty drive

2019-06-12 12:52:10 UTC

almost every SSDs is going to work fine anyways

2019-06-12 12:52:19 UTC

it's just about longevity and reliability
