It's just a chunk of stainless, you can use good silverware too. Is it still silverware if it's not silver? Cutlery? Utensils? But yeah, a normal spoon works, it's just less comfy. Something about the steel acting as a catalyst to help the water wash away the smells.

When I say good silverware I mean proper 18/8 or 18/10 stuff.

If it was super cheap shit, probably not, but if it was a halfway decent set you're probably good. It's not a weird grade, it's kinda the standard.

I'd personally rather get a major brand name, because the finish is PROBABLY better, and you'll have better luck if you want more years later.

I think ours ended up being something like $30-$40 on sale at Target for a nice Oneida set.

Browse around US retailers and brands you've heard of before ordering on Ali, but it's just stainless, so probably fine.

All the ones on ali say "304".

Some places are saying the chromium/nickel content in 304 ranges a bit, some are saying it should be the same as 18/8. Apparently 18/10 is a little better, more nickel being a little sturdier and shinier
