most tiresome process making those is the stitches when doing them manualy(need proper machine)

good quality spraypaint, some good foamboard and heavy fabric helps a ton (forgot rubber bottom mat)

The custom ones I got from the link @Tervy posted are of good quality print-wise, but rather thin. Not great if you like your mousepads to be like a pillow for your wrist
