I need to learn to solder

i'm essentially starting over and it's gonna be harder too

since im going for more difficult work

tinning small vias for wires and shit like that

I bought a macropad kit so I could learn on it, but I never actually got an iron

I'll probably end up with one of those USB irons that get shilled here every so often, and I since I don't really have desk space for a full setup, and I doubt I'll be soldering *that* much

tbh the KSGER isnt that big

KSGER mini is also an option if you have a power brick

TS80 and TS100 are good irons mind you just slightly more expensive and i'd prefer the interface of a stationary unit

Being a self contained thing I can just chuck in a drawer when not using it is the most appealing thing about the TS irons

also im pretty sure the ts80/ts100 tip standard is different

i guess the mini could save space if you also have lab-PSU capable feeding it

then you can just throw the barrel in its ass and lead to station and have a go with it

i mean you can put the brick on your floor

if you're starved for desk space

and yeah TS80/100 uses similar but separate tips
