FWIW my trace didn't hit DOD at all
hence the honeytrap
I'm pretty sure it's "honeypot"
whatever
it's a trap period...the 'honey' is the bait
Check out the thread :glowniggers:
how is this motherfucker not getting timeouts
I have 100Mbps I shouldn't be getting time outs on my end
that shit's set to wait time of 30
wtf is this supposed to mean
>inb4 doxing self
Not my real name just some shit I pulled off the top of my head
So apparently third party traceroute works
But now the question is if that's just coincidence or intentional
Because for all we know they might be near some DoD node
Im' 99% sure that an intermediary node only sees the source and the destination address
So how exactly does this matter?
far as i know, doing traceroutes isn't illegal...network admins/staff do it all the time to test out their networks when connecting to other networks with international biz connections
however..using it to isolate target ip's for cyber terrorism attacks such as ddos is illegal...even harassment on any level without proof of wrong doing(most of hw's accusations against 8chan for being a breeding ground for terrorism is pure bs, otherwise jim w. would be locked up)
one thing i've been wondering...how come nobody bothered to do a traceroute on 8chan before it went down
especially after Q showed up on it and rumors started to float around it that Q was a military op operating on 8chan
oh gees....few ppl on another server wanted to know whats up with 8kun
i gave them a full explanation of whats going on in the plainest n00b i could present it in
then somebody asked for it in english, and another asked for a decoder ring
my response was 'do u want it in redneck english u mean'
@SirW00f people probably have but it wasn't particularly noteworthy
i guess it's noteworthy now
or will be once the servers come back up
Tracert's are not illegal
Nor could they ever be
Hops can be blocked
and since it is on the public internet, it's up to the hop to hide it
I'm pretty sure bedchan did something like that when jimbo took over. Good luck pulling up his screenshots/webm's from years ago. It had ip addresses and explanations that went over my head since I have a 0iq heada
Wait what this nibbas saying traceroutes are illegal?
>30s latency to upload to cloud server
>Traceroute my server to see where the hangup is
>Suddenly the FBI break down my door for cybercrime
i never said traceroutes were illegal, i said when used to commit a cyber terrorism crime they can be considered a tool for criminal offence
No tracert is not now nor likely to ever be illegal, common troubleshooting tool for network admins
