Personally I think the two witnesses will be Elijah and Enoch. Can I prove it, no. Nor am I trying to speak for God because who am I to speak for the creator. But based on the scripture telling us
Hebrews 9:27
**Hebrews 9:27 - New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)**
```Dust
<27> And just as it is appointed for mortals to die once, and after that the judgment, ```
I am just making a logical assumption
Wow, I didn't realize just how many people went to heaven, alive. Even in other religious texts, there are several people in each religion that ascended without death.
only 2 really did though lol
It offers possibilities. That does not dismiss reincarnation. It just is speaking of some. And again why ask John was he reincarnated if it was not something they believed in then.
I'm seeing 8 in Christianity, unless I'm reading this incorrectly.
@Nomad I dont read anywhere in the bible that we go to heaven. The kingdom of God comes to earth is what it says
They knew of his birth. He was not Elijah coming back as Elijah. They made that clear.
no, because in the transfiguration, Elijah was there.
John said no.
no reincarnation.
Elijah was at the transfiguration, not John the Baptist
John the Baptist is his own person that was an Elijah figure.
a type.
both John the Baptist and Elijah will be in the kingdom of God.
We die and sleep with the dead. Why say it that way?
because the dead are asleep
thats how the bible words it
the dead will rise one day
as themselves
Psalm 13:3 kjv
**Psalm 13:3 - King James Version (KJV)**
```Dust
<3> Consider and hear me, O Lord my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death; ```
God compares us to grass in an arid climate. So the grass died and came back yearly or most years at least.
1 Peter 1:24
**1 Peter 1:24 - New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)**
```Dust
<24> For"All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, ```
2 kings 19:26
**2 Kings 19:26 - New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)**
```Dust
<26> while their inhabitants, shorn of strength, are dismayed and confounded; they have become like plants of the field and like tender grass, like grass on the housetops, blighted before it is grown. ```
Isaiah 40:6-8
**Isaiah 40:6-8 - New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)**
```Dust
<6> A voice says, "Cry out!" And I said, "What shall I cry?"All people are grass, their constancy is like the flower of the field. <7> The grass withers, the flower fades, when the breath of the Lord blows upon it; surely the people are grass. <8> The grass withers, the flower fades; but the word of our God will stand forever. ```
Grass (food) for thought. Enjoy.
Not trying anything but to get thoughts on this.
There are many such verses. Do not worry about the wicked they will die like grass for example.
We all will die like grass
Bible makes that clear
ok
people die
that is true
Our lives are tiny compared to eternity here one day, gone the next
etc
OK there is also a verse about us paying the price for our sin. In the next three or four lifetimes. What the Hebrew says. It is mistranslated to say our children will pay the price for our sins. Yet I see many very good people with very terrible parents. They are not paying a price. We are judged for our own actions not those of our parents. Now obviously with terrible parents we are more likely to be bad as well.
