what is your position on eternal torment vs annihilationism vs univeralism?
i’ve come to learn that apparently, the original greek christians were universalists, who understood that some verses we attribute to the final day of judgement were actually in regards to 70 AD since Jesus said it would happen in his generation, and it was a latin mistranslation that led to the idea of “eternal torment” heres a channel that goes into it: https://youtu.be/EkMwoJEsyx4
I do not believe God does that. Even though what I saw in my ADE was Hell. God told me if I chose death my new mother would be better than the one who raised me. I could learn to be better in my next life. God explained I was a good person but could get better.
God also explained to me that he would not have spoken those words had I not already believed in reincarnation.
the idea of eternal torment doesn’t mesh with my idea of a loving father, thats for sure. I’ve definitely been leaning towards annihilationism/universalism as of late. it seems to me that the idea of God as some eternal torturer is a slander of His name
its certainly been used by many to justify their leaving of the faith. Jehovah’s witnesses believe in annihilationism, which is certainly a preferable fate to eternal torment
God told me I was not deserving of going to Heaven. Not then at least. I was judged as soon as it was very possible I could die. Not some later time.
In most ADE videos I watched or read. That is what they say. Some kind of immediate judgement.
reincarnation is nothing but a huge deception.
most people aren’t, but i believe the bible is clear that few will actually enter into heaven, but than many will die/sleep and then be accepted on the day of judgement
a doctrine of imprisonment of earth
resurrection is pointless if reincarnation exists
Well I do not feel I am in prison. Hell possibly but not prison.
the bible speaks of resurrection.
never reincarnation
Just the way your read it. The way it is distorted by translation that is really selling a religious belief.
i don’t necessarily believe in “Hell” as most see it. i think we sleep, like it describes in the old testament. “return to the dirt” implying how you were before you were made
judgement comes on the final day
So you dismiss the videos which speak of being judged at near death?
there is a lake of fire for the wicked though, but it is destruction and not eternal torture
there is a set day for Judgment, the ONLY people who are judged during life are the people who are so wicked they are considered to be like demons according to Enoch
some say that its a temporary judgement that “refines” people. Watch that video i posted and some others on his channel, there are a lot of verses that make a convincing argument about it, but I’m not sure yet myself
So you think that God just says. You lived a bad life so now it is time to end it for eternity. Why not give that soul an new body and a new chance?
1 Timothy 4:10
**1 Timothy 4:10 - New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)**
```Dust
<10> For to this end we toil and struggle, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe. ```
Do not know why I type not instead of now. Frustrates me.
“all people, especially of those who believe”
Lamentations 3:31
**Lamentations 3:31 - New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)**
```Dust
<31> For the Lord will not reject forever. ```
Lamentations 3:32
**Lamentations 3:32 - New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)**
```Dust
<32> Although he causes grief, he will have compassion according to the abundance of his steadfast love; ```
once you are sent to the lake of fire, it is a one time rejection, then you no longer exist 🤔
1 corinthians 15:25
**1 Corinthians 15:25 - New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)**
```Dust
<25> For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. ```
you get a chance.
one chance.
your choices matter
“all his enemies”
So how does the Lord not reject forever? That seems to imply the Lord has some way for us to do better. To right the wrongs we did even if we did not accept or know Jesus.
people are offered the truth and they have the choice to accept or reject it, God makes sure people are offered the truth
i think you should watch that video and some others on that channel, i myself just recently started studying the idea. You’ll find the latin was mistranslated in a lot of areas
