we dont observe this effect unless their is motion

the density of a medium affects the buoyancy. when something is less dense in a higher density area, it will float up. if something is more dense, it will sink.
both density and buoyancy require some sort of gravitational source to work
Otherwise there is no direction for it to ‘fall’
