I’ve heard of just as crazy things. How pharmaceutical companies lobby to make fruits and vegetables drugs. Because they influence your mood. Which is what drugs are called these days. Any substance that can change your mood or behavior. Since they can’t exactly do that, like they fooled everyone with marijuana by labeling it as something else, it’s why they push for genetic modification. So it will cease to be a natural product. And will become a man-made one.
