I think

2019-06-24 15:55:30 UTC

It’s more relaxing to look up at the sky and admire things as they should be admired

2019-06-24 15:55:39 UTC

You are mistaken.
Your vision and optics used to enhance it have limitations.
Time to learn about perspective.

2019-06-24 15:55:48 UTC

the sky and ground meet

2019-06-24 15:55:52 UTC

visually

2019-06-24 15:55:52 UTC

I know

2019-06-24 15:56:02 UTC

angular resolution limits

2019-06-24 15:56:20 UTC

dirt and moisture in the air

2019-06-24 15:56:52 UTC

Your optics have limits, but you should be able to see extremely far (in a theoretical world with no limitations)

2019-06-24 15:57:12 UTC

is air perfectly clear?

2019-06-24 15:57:27 UTC

I said “theoretical”

2019-06-24 15:57:27 UTC

The firmament is round. like the earth was in a ball

2019-06-24 15:57:35 UTC

so dostn apply to reality

Flat in the center of it.

mirage

2019-06-24 15:58:31 UTC

....the earths is flat

2019-06-24 15:59:09 UTC

Mirage can not be perfect. They are wavy.

This is such a lame excuse.

2019-06-24 16:00:26 UTC

@rightthehand it does apply, I said you should be able to see extremely far. I meant that when you look, considering there is nothing blocking you and then I said “in a theoretical world” where there is nothing blocking you from looking.

2019-06-24 16:00:40 UTC

You’re right @Steve Angell

2019-06-24 16:00:47 UTC

It is a lame excuse

2019-06-24 16:01:15 UTC

but in the real world the air isnt clear

2019-06-24 16:01:24 UTC

Obviously

2019-06-24 16:01:37 UTC

so then your therotical applications doesnt fit reality

2019-06-24 16:01:39 UTC

This gotta be a joke

2019-06-24 16:02:12 UTC

Where I live I can rarely see more than ten miles. The air is so humid and salty as near the ocean east and west.

2019-06-24 16:02:20 UTC

^

2019-06-24 16:04:19 UTC

My theoretical applications obviously don’t fit reality, but considering @Steve Angell ‘s applications to reality, he can see more than ten miles away. With such conditions, your applications really disproved themselves when @Steve Angell said that.

2019-06-24 16:06:47 UTC

So how does seeing 10 miles prove earth is a ball?

2019-06-24 16:08:09 UTC

I'd like to mention a lot of the horizon pictures posted here end in a mountain range. While it does give you a point of perspective, of course it won't look as curved when a wall is in the way

2019-06-24 16:08:19 UTC

Your horizon excuse is so lame. Consider the variables and probabilities. What if the ground below the camera was perfectly flat? What if the camera was not being held by a person, but a stand to hold it up? That would change your perspective. There is such a finite amount of probabilities, but every one can change one variable entirely. Also “seeing 10 miles” doesn’t prove the earth is a sphere, but it proves what I was saying before about horizons@ @rightthehand ...

2019-06-24 16:08:41 UTC

Thank you @Doomyx

2019-06-24 16:09:48 UTC

Again how are you proving the earth is a ball by looking around?@It’s Complicated!

2019-06-24 16:10:19 UTC

As I said, it doesn’t, but it proves my point on horizons...
