You spent thousands of hours watching videos looking for a curve and are calling that research? If you are looking for something hard enough you will find it whether it is true or not.

I know what a mirage is living in Arizona for a decade. Refraction is always blurry. Not what I see. No blur. Perfect refraction is impossible without equipment.

I used geometry because I did not trust some site that claimed it would do it for me.

I took Calculus in College so geometry was rather simple for me to use. The radius squared add the distance squared and take the square root and then subtract the radius of the earth. Rather simple.
