did anyone here know that a Lunar Eclipses doesnt make sense on a globe?

if the moon needs the sun in order to be luminated

then how exactly do we see a bright red moon when according to them, it should be within the Umbra

i just realized this recently

refraction due to the atmosphere

that's why its red

but the moon cannot produce its own light

yet it goes behind the earth here

away from any sunlight

light from the sun, light passes past earth and refracts into moon

that picture shows a big area of shadow

it is red

why wouldnt the other side of earth be illuminated?

why the moon only?

prob bc the earth cant refract light that sharp

but the earth is closer to the sun in that pic than the moon

why would the moon be lit and not the opposite side of earth?

the light is refracting in the earths atmosphere, and 'bending' into the moon

why doesnt it bend onto the other half of the globe?

instead of going over and past it to hit the moon?

it cant refract that much i assume
