The earth rotates on an axis which does not move. This creates the day night cycles. As it does so, the entire thing moves around the sun, constantly pointed in the direction of Polaris. Polaris is extremely large, but extraordinary far away-however, it has been observed in history that it *does* move away from the North Pole, due to the *Axis* changing over time.

@NickC64 not its not, its elliptical, which means we slow down, and speed up. Also its a constant turn, if u were in a car that keeps turning sideways, and slows down and speed up, you feel that
