2019-09-23 14:27:58 UTC

These are question that flat earthers typically ignore.

2019-09-23 14:29:09 UTC

I want them answered

2019-09-23 14:30:47 UTC

I wouldn’t expect to find them here. They’ll probably just tell you those rockets just crashed into the ocean and were recovered.

2019-09-23 14:37:41 UTC

god created fe will be the most common awnser @Emperor Crap

2019-09-23 14:38:01 UTC

2019-09-23 14:38:20 UTC

No

2019-09-23 14:38:30 UTC

I can only give their common awsners

2019-09-23 14:38:36 UTC

I cant actually explain them

2019-09-23 14:40:34 UTC

if you can’t explain it then why do you believe it?

2019-09-23 14:40:38 UTC

Im pretty sure the bible reference is very vague. I don’t recall any text that outright calls it flat

2019-09-23 14:43:19 UTC

aristotle ffs

2019-09-23 14:43:51 UTC

this dude was around during ancient greek times and he knew the earth was flat

2019-09-23 14:44:06 UTC

and if history is distorted, please give me dem sources

2019-09-23 14:44:37 UTC

“Do your own research” is probably what they’ll say.

2019-09-23 14:45:07 UTC

lmao yeah

2019-09-23 14:45:28 UTC

why can’t you give me the research you did then? xd

Flat-Earth theorists marshal a number of biblical passages to defend their assertion (e.g., Joshua 10:12-13; 1 Chronicles 16:30; Psalm 93:1; 96:10; 104:5).
One notices instantly that almost every passage cited in favor of the flat-Earth position occurs in a poetic context. To be responsible readers of the Bible, we must respect the genre of literature we are reading. Poetry is to be read differently than prose; it is more expressive, emotional, and metaphorical.
In fact, taking biblical poetry literally would, in some cases, pervert clear scriptural teaching elsewhere, leading to the belief that there are many gods instead of one God (Exodus 15:11; Psalm 86:8), that humans are really gods (Psalm 82:6), that thunder is the voice of God (2 Samuel 22:14), that God slays sea monsters (Psalm 74:12-14), and that God has wings (Psalm 61:4).
Obviously, these passages cannot be understood for what they literally say.

There are atheist flat earthers, though. Not so much on this server, but I've encountered many on other servers.

2019-09-23 17:24:49 UTC

Hello

2019-09-23 17:25:57 UTC

hello

2019-09-23 17:26:22 UTC

Do you believe in the flat earth too?

2019-09-23 17:28:09 UTC

no

2019-09-23 17:28:20 UTC

I believe that the earth is flat

2019-09-23 17:28:23 UTC

ok

2019-09-23 17:28:27 UTC

how come

2019-09-23 17:28:29 UTC

Why don't you?

2019-09-23 17:28:46 UTC

Well, if you look at the other planets they're round

2019-09-23 17:29:18 UTC

Well, all the ones in our solar system

2019-09-23 17:29:25 UTC

And the earth used to be round to yeah

2019-09-23 17:29:48 UTC

But the trouble is life can't exist on a globe, as gravity will pull it into the centre and destroy it

2019-09-23 17:29:58 UTC

Only microorganisms can survive

2019-09-23 17:30:12 UTC

ones that can't be killed by an attack if you get what I mean XD

2019-09-23 17:30:30 UTC

So, sometime in the past (either 7000 or around 4 billion years ago)

2019-09-23 17:30:38 UTC

The plates of the earth went crazy

2019-09-23 17:30:48 UTC

and the core exploded and over time pushed the eaerth flat

2019-09-23 17:31:11 UTC

and then the micro-organisms bred over time and evolved
