Well @Yabai I've asked a few times before and gotten no response.

2019-10-01 16:11:34 UTC

what did you ask ?

2019-10-01 16:12:36 UTC

I want to debate the shape of the earth, flat vs round.

2019-10-01 16:12:49 UTC

k ?

2019-10-01 16:13:00 UTC

Or at least have someone explain to me why they believe the earth is flat, because I believe it's round.

2019-10-01 16:13:49 UTC

i know it's flat because it makes more sense than some ball spinning in space with water in it and we don't we feel anything

2019-10-01 16:13:50 UTC

I asked in a less demanding way a few times now and got no response, so I felt like I had to be "louder" if that makes sense.

2019-10-01 16:14:40 UTC

alright if you really wanna debate the vc chat is the best place for you

2019-10-01 16:14:55 UTC

If the earth is flat, then why can I travel in a straight line and return back to where I started?

2019-10-01 16:15:16 UTC

have you ever tried it ?

2019-10-01 16:15:19 UTC

if so

2019-10-01 16:15:20 UTC

how ?

2019-10-01 16:15:32 UTC

i mean exactly how

2019-10-01 16:15:38 UTC

in a plane ?

2019-10-01 16:16:59 UTC

No, I haven't done it personally, but I know if I were to head east, and hypothetically I could go in a straight line with no obstacles, I would return to my starting point.

2019-10-01 16:18:08 UTC

Also, how do you explain the curvature that you see when you get to a higher elevation (ex: the top of a mountain?)

2019-10-01 16:18:16 UTC

even if you haven't done it how do you know it's real also from canada to south america they never done it why ?

2019-10-01 16:18:54 UTC

never seen any curvature it's always flat

2019-10-01 16:19:25 UTC

I've been in a plane, just not around the world, and I can say I've seen the curvature over the horizon.

2019-10-01 16:19:40 UTC

How would a flat earth curve?

2019-10-01 16:20:20 UTC

You can circumnavigate east-to-west on the flat earth map and come back to your original point as well.

2019-10-01 16:20:47 UTC

But how does that work for a flat earth?

2019-10-01 16:20:50 UTC

yup

2019-10-01 16:21:16 UTC

Because the flat earth model is a monopole. The north pole is in the center. I'll get you a pic, hold on

2019-10-01 16:21:21 UTC

I thought you just said my circumnavigation point made no sense.

2019-10-01 16:21:25 UTC

H8

2019-10-01 16:22:45 UTC

north pole is in the center. Following a path on a compass east or west will also navigate you in a circle.

2019-10-01 16:22:57 UTC

What is this debate about?

2019-10-01 16:23:06 UTC

not a debate, really, just questions and answers

2019-10-01 16:23:34 UTC

I know of an easy way to prove round earth.

2019-10-01 16:23:47 UTC

I had proof but I can't upload images.

2019-10-01 16:23:54 UTC

No permission

2019-10-01 16:24:03 UTC

Its to do with the night sky

2019-10-01 16:24:25 UTC

does it involve two celestial poles?

2019-10-01 16:24:34 UTC

I said look out at the horizon from a higher point of elevation

2019-10-01 16:24:40 UTC

cuz that's my fav evidence. :3

2019-10-01 16:24:43 UTC

It curves

2019-10-01 16:25:29 UTC

For example, I live in UK and the night sky here is different compared to Canada since they are pretty far away from each other. However, this only works on a round earth.

2019-10-01 16:26:25 UTC

I never thought about that, you can see different constellations and stars at different points on the earth, that's what you mean right?

2019-10-01 16:26:33 UTC

Yeah
