if it was like that the eart would have only a few kilometers

2019-10-06 19:56:30 UTC

I believe the curve is exaggerated further by atmospheric refraction, and yeah, it's zoomed in a lot

2019-10-06 19:56:33 UTC

The picture he posted, earth looks to curve a lot.

2019-10-06 19:56:45 UTC

Your picture is taken in different conditions

2019-10-06 19:56:48 UTC

it's what we're trying to figure out

2019-10-06 19:56:49 UTC

and from a different zoom

2019-10-06 19:56:53 UTC

taking the distance from the photo and it's heighted camera, the curvature'd be about 2m in a FULL IMAGE

2019-10-06 19:56:57 UTC

but that's cropped

2019-10-06 19:57:09 UTC

talking the bridge thingy btw

2019-10-06 19:57:47 UTC

earth in his pic curves for obvious reasons

2019-10-06 19:58:05 UTC

can I dm you @rivenator12113 ?

2019-10-06 19:58:11 UTC

sure

2019-10-06 19:58:26 UTC

Another interesting 'optical illusion'

2019-10-06 19:58:53 UTC

Flat earthers say that you can always zoom things back into view with a more powerful camera, or that large objects in the distance are hidden by cameras

2019-10-06 19:59:22 UTC

that's indeed a very good test btw

2019-10-06 19:59:59 UTC

if we had a powerfull enough camera we could see africa

2019-10-06 20:00:07 UTC

Here's the problem - objects always pop out of the water and the further they get, they are hidden behind the water, quite clearly. If you zoom in at different levels, you will always see the object hidden behind the water level. It will never jump out of it when you zoom in further

2019-10-06 20:00:40 UTC

The object will become larger and more clearly visible, but the amount of it that is hidden by water will not change unless it moves closer or further away.

2019-10-06 20:01:20 UTC

we could really test it out 😄

2019-10-06 20:42:04 UTC

this is like the 99% vs the 1%

2019-10-06 20:43:38 UTC

yur left and capitalist @Deciduus

2019-10-06 20:48:56 UTC

2019-10-06 23:11:51 UTC

@mærsh <#484513575801454593>

2019-10-07 00:03:23 UTC

@Silly Rabbit, Trix Are For Kids are you able to explain how equatorial mounts work, when they're based on a sphere earth?

2019-10-07 00:11:20 UTC
2019-10-07 00:11:30 UTC

hire

2019-10-07 00:11:30 UTC

alright

2019-10-07 00:11:42 UTC

don't speak on flat earth or lounge, pro tip

2019-10-07 00:12:07 UTC

does this "god" not care for those that die from disaeases

2019-10-07 00:12:12 UTC

the 'civil debates' here tend not to be civil at all tho :/

2019-10-07 00:12:16 UTC

@╚═( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)═╝ that's the thing, read the old testament, God's justice's not a sea of roses

2019-10-07 00:12:29 UTC

WAS it their destiny to die from a disease

2019-10-07 00:12:46 UTC

I find it funny how atheists think we think God's not wrathfull

2019-10-07 00:12:55 UTC

that's God's anger

2019-10-07 00:12:59 UTC

punishment

2019-10-07 00:13:23 UTC

no they died from the disease, not from "god's wrath"

2019-10-07 00:13:31 UTC

i had a friend saying "God punishes people and make those who believe in him suffer, while the Devil tortures the bad. Doesn't that make him the good guy?"

2019-10-07 00:13:35 UTC

yes they diead by a disease
