We can both look at the same thing and draw different conclusions. Why?

The video proves to some that the earth is flat, and proves to me the earth is curved.

When we look for something we will find evidence somewhere that will support what we are looking for.

If we dont want something to exist, we will turn a blind eye.

Also it would be around 500 miles, but your not taking the height of elevation into account. Due to just how large the earth is, we are just ants. So when you look out at it it’s going to look flat.
However the higher you go, and the farther up you get away from earth the more of the shape you will see.
I’m pretty sure you have already heard this, but it’s like an ant on a basketball. From the ants point of view, the ball is going to look flat. And that’s true.
Again it goes back to tangent lines. When we zoom into a curve, we can draw a tangent line to show a slope of the circle. (That’s I think either pre calculus or algebra 2)
So basically we are not far enough out there, and the earth is so big that 500 ft of curve isn’t going to be large compared to the size of the earth , but the number will seem large to us.
Because when we think of 500 ft we assume either something really tall or something really far away.
I mean the earth is 20897740 ft. 500 really isn’t a huge number.
If we do (20897740-500) /20897740 we see that it’s not even 1% (it’s close but it’s absolute negebile) of earths size. @Logrian
