right

2020-11-09 19:16:27 UTC

Instead of making it a bad thing it should just but acknowledged

2020-11-09 19:16:33 UTC

and stigma is a part of the reason for gender dysphoria in the first place

2020-11-09 19:16:42 UTC

?

2020-11-09 19:16:49 UTC

so insisting that it is an illness/disorder makes those with gender dysphoria feel even worse

2020-11-09 19:17:03 UTC

Well that's one thing society needs to change

2020-11-09 19:17:08 UTC

Insisting that I have ADHD doesn't make me feel worse

2020-11-09 19:17:09 UTC

Stigmas

2020-11-09 19:17:34 UTC

because ADHD doesn't have a stigma of self-harm, suicidal thoughts, suicide, etc

2020-11-09 19:17:34 UTC

It's not a thing I can change tho

2020-11-09 19:17:43 UTC

True

2020-11-09 19:17:56 UTC

Ppl just think ppl with ADHD are all energetic

2020-11-09 19:18:03 UTC

While for trans ppl it's more negative

2020-11-09 19:18:53 UTC

yup

2020-11-09 19:19:41 UTC

So how come they aren't able to say "I have a mental illness"?

2020-11-09 19:20:06 UTC

why do you insist that they admit they have a mental illness?

2020-11-09 19:20:11 UTC

what do you have to gain from that?

2020-11-09 19:20:28 UTC

what does anyone have to gain from that?

2020-11-09 19:21:03 UTC

Lower suicide rates, better treatments (not pills or medical procedures such as surgery)

2020-11-09 19:21:10 UTC

because if it's in the context of "if you are experiencing gender dysphoria, you should look for help" then i understand

2020-11-09 19:21:36 UTC

but i feel like (and especially because this is a conservative server) people here want them to admit it's a mental illness as an argument against transgenderism

2020-11-09 19:22:05 UTC

ofc that is me generalizing, but it's been true for most of the arguments where someone argued for that stance

2020-11-09 19:22:16 UTC

i cant generalize but you can

2020-11-09 19:22:17 UTC

ok

2020-11-09 19:22:31 UTC

wdym

2020-11-09 19:22:55 UTC

when did I say you can't generalize?

2020-11-09 19:23:27 UTC

I

2020-11-09 19:24:17 UTC

you were using an analogy as a part of your argument

2020-11-09 19:24:27 UTC

if my generalization is wrong, feel free to call me out for it

2020-11-09 19:24:43 UTC

but my generalization wasn't a part of my main argument

2020-11-09 19:25:06 UTC

How have you only have positive experiences with transgender people. The last LGBTQ friend group I had tried to convince me I was transgender over the course of 7 months.

2020-11-09 19:25:22 UTC

There was no analogy. I just said that every trans person I've met was toxic as fuck

2020-11-09 19:25:34 UTC

Most of them, for me.

2020-11-09 19:25:54 UTC

fuck

2020-11-09 19:25:59 UTC

am i using the wrong word

2020-11-09 19:26:37 UTC

Ive found to realize that most real transgender people prefer not to flaunt their title around. They just wanna live their life. Thats the point of being transgender afterall, to be seen as the other gender exclusively.

2020-11-09 19:27:16 UTC

So doesn't that mean they want to flaunt their title around? By trying to be another gender?

2020-11-09 19:27:29 UTC

The title of being transgender

2020-11-09 19:27:49 UTC

> There was no analogy. I just said that every trans person I've met was toxic as fuck
@HyooNoot what i mean is your personal experience with trans people depends heavily on your location, social circles, etc

2020-11-09 19:27:55 UTC

and you can't apply it to all grans people

2020-11-09 19:28:09 UTC

same goes for @Kriskris
