thanks! made it recently
It is negative
It's not negative in nature, it's that I'm not a fan of ppl killing themselves and cutting their dicks off
sure
And of course they should have rights, just as an autistic person would, but its still like a mental illness
> but i feel like insisting that trans people have a disorder/illness is negative in nature and most likely makes it worse for trans people
@icedOJ well that's just a stimga
Ppl think that mental illness is bad but we actually should be addressing it and it's not bad to have it because a lot of ppl have it
right
Instead of making it a bad thing it should just but acknowledged
and stigma is a part of the reason for gender dysphoria in the first place
?
so insisting that it is an illness/disorder makes those with gender dysphoria feel even worse
Well that's one thing society needs to change
Insisting that I have ADHD doesn't make me feel worse
Stigmas
because ADHD doesn't have a stigma of self-harm, suicidal thoughts, suicide, etc
It's not a thing I can change tho
True
Ppl just think ppl with ADHD are all energetic
While for trans ppl it's more negative
So how come they aren't able to say "I have a mental illness"?
why do you insist that they admit they have a mental illness?
what do you have to gain from that?
what does anyone have to gain from that?
Lower suicide rates, better treatments (not pills or medical procedures such as surgery)
because if it's in the context of "if you are experiencing gender dysphoria, you should look for help" then i understand
but i feel like (and especially because this is a conservative server) people here want them to admit it's a mental illness as an argument against transgenderism
ofc that is me generalizing, but it's been true for most of the arguments where someone argued for that stance
i cant generalize but you can
ok
wdym
when did I say you can't generalize?
I
you were using an analogy as a part of your argument
if my generalization is wrong, feel free to call me out for it
but my generalization wasn't a part of my main argument
How have you only have positive experiences with transgender people. The last LGBTQ friend group I had tried to convince me I was transgender over the course of 7 months.
There was no analogy. I just said that every trans person I've met was toxic as fuck
Most of them, for me.
fuck
