@Spectranaut That's actually an interesting theory he has. But he hasn't accounted for a couple things. 1) In this model, the stars are reflected, which would explain the bidirectional movement, but not the fact that the southern hemisphere has an entirely different set of stars and constellations. This model would produce a mirrored version of the northern hemisphere's sky. 2) There would be massive distortion at the celestial equator. Like, stars would appear stretched, similar to how you'd see objects at the edge of a lens.
