yeah wild mustard produced a wide range of plants
sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, kale, kohlrabi
natural selection does have a few examples
take the finches
you could consider it allopatric speciation
and eventually they become reproductively isolated
which basically means that some sort of geographical barrier has separated one species
and eventually the two species change so much that they are no longer able to produce viable offspring with the other
an example of this would be if you took a field of mice
maybe half and half, half being white and half being black
let's say a river separates the two into two groups
(this is an example of allopatric speciation)
now the populations are split
these two populations, over many generations, evolve independently
eventually they become genetically distinct
and wham
you've got new species on your hands
I think i've studied enough for tonight
I'm gonna head out
bbl!
