A new poll found that an overwhelming amount of Israelis disapproved of how the governing handled the weekend flare-up in between Israel and the Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terror groups.
According to a survey carried out by Walla News, 61% of Israelis said it was a mistake to sign a cease-fire agreement with the PIJ, with 27% supporting it and 12% saying that they were unsure.
When asked which side won the latest round of fighting, 44% said that Hamas were the victors, as opposed to 27% who said that Israel won. Another 29% said that neither side gained a clear upper hand.
The poll also found that a large plurality of the Israeli public was in favor of a large-scale ground operation to put an end to rocket fire and burning kites. Over 45% said that they wanted a ground operation, with 37% saying they were against it.
Seventy-three percent also said that Prime Minister Netanyahu was wrong to not have visited Gaza residents who have been victimized by flaming kites sent in from Gaza, and 58% said that they do not support how the government handled the Gaza situation.
Over 170 rockets and mortars have been fired from Gaza towards Israel since Friday. Four people were injured when a rocket hit their Sderot home. A second rocket fell near a Sderot synagogue, but caused no injuries.
