That's 2.99 percent not .299 percent
I left for a few minutes and now the conversation switched to vaccines. I hope nobody is trying to claim vaccines are not good to get
I think a discussion needs to be had about what is the appropriate amount of skepticism.
Obviously I have faith that I exist, etc. But beyond that... who knows?
You don’t need faith to know you exist
Having faith in something means you’re taking a blind leap
I'm talking about the claims made by the Catholic dude during the youtube cast.
Ok. And I think you’re right on when you said we need the appropriate amount of skepticism. People like flat earthers don’t have an appropriate amount of skepticism.
Well, sorry to get philosophical, but how do you define the proper amount of skepticism?
I ask seriously and respectfully. I'm actually interested to know the answer.
When the evidence is overwhelming against something that’s when the skepticism needs to calm down
Like with flat earthers
They don’t stop being skeptical of the earth being round
That's weird. The same pattern is observed of christianity. Faith for one idea, and skepticism for contrary evidence.
When science is contrary to the long-held beliefs of christians, those christians believe the science to be incorrect.
Voltaire: "two religions would fight endlessly". Irony: We will make your liberal philosophy into one of two belief options.
Angles!
Hahaha
Yes. He is not paying attention to others.
Should I read.... Waking up or moral landscape?? Plz help me suggesting
And he tells others that they "have not understood" when they don't agree with him.
He’s filibustering and yelling at people who try to get clarification yet wants to jump in and refute what people are responding with at any moment
Yes.
Too many people talking at once.
We should have some sort of timer and turns or something
This was fun for a time. Thank you for the conversation till it broke down.
@Catholic_Traditionalist this is a JOKE
*GROAN*
haha
*GROAN*
He is just repeating himself though.
I know. It's infuriating
