All in all , they found ancient writing in Transylvania that predate the Sumerians by 2000 years.
What reputation does King John Sigismund have around there now? From what I understand, he was a Unitarian and had some allies and enemies by breaking some religious traditions?
John Sigismund has a big Statue in Cluj. Cluj is the most important city of Transylvania from an economical standpoint. It also has some streets named after him. He is regarded as a hero cause he borke a peace with turks and befriended with Suleiman (the Turkish sultan) . Basically he was the peace guy.
I mean, Romania was under 5 empires and nobody was able to break our core traditions
Roman, Mongol of Genghis Khan, Ottoman, Habsburg, Austro-Hungarian
@LokiV Battletech universe. Mechwarrior is part of the iP. The Hellbringer 'mech is known as the Loki to the Inner Sphere
but yeah. video games is pretty close, though its based on a pen&paper game
Ah forgot about the Russian Empire, so 6 😂
We survived them all 😛
Interesting. That adds a bit to what I knew of Sigismund.
OK, which version of Rocky Horror Show, Rocky Horror Picture Show, the punk variant, or Fox remake featuring an actual transsexual lead? (What percentage of London or US play audiences, or movie viewers, even realize Transylvania was real?)
Oh i dunno. But Transylvania is still real 😄 I live in it :))
Its one of the 3 historical regions of romania: Transylvania, Moldavia and Muntenia.
Here 😛
Although it has 21 million inhabitants, it can feed half of Europe. We have the second most fertile land in the world after Argentina. Also the natural resources in the region of Transylvania are so huge that if exploited could halfen the world price of gold and rare earth materials. Few people know this. Some say its the biggest gold reservoir in the world. Throughout History, the gold from Transylvania supported all the 6 empires. The Romans alone took 160 tonnes of gold and 300 tones of Silver. 😄 (2000 years ago)
Adding the Black Sea - which is east of Muntenia and doesn't show - than nobody knows. They recently discovered huge deposits of oil and gas. So big that they couldnt measure it right.
Which rare Earth materials?
The USA by various economic and political bad policies, has trashed a huge amount of our natural resources infrastructure. That makes us more dependent on China et al.
Didn't Moldavia have a high level political leader who ended up at The Hague for criminal prosecution?
Copper, Platinum, Molibden, Erbium, Scandium, Yterbium, Neodinium, Cerbium as far as i know and many others
Huge deposits of copper. But they are not rare sorry
And, I'm jealous of that internet bill. It's less than many US-ians pay in taxes and surcharges on top of the nominal cost, for service a bit slower than yours.
Yes Romania is well up on internet speed.
Hopefully we will implement 5G soon
We have it in some big cities already..but not nation wide
5G protocols can operate on lower frequencies with larger coverage areas, but the faster versions require millimeter wavelengths with fairly limited range, and so not well suited for areas without dense populations to justify a lot of closely spaced towers.
Yes you are right. But hopefully, we are part of the European Union, and can access free funding for some low-denisity population 🥳
Would be cool to have 5G and live broadcast from a Medieval Village hehe 😛
So all the world can see how medieval milking of the cow is done, or how medieval cheese is produced still 😛
Or medieval clothing. And how people over there grow food without any conservatives
And across town some high tech industry using those conductors, platings, and supermagnetic resources?
Ah not really Sir. People use it for selfies and such. Unfortunately we don't have a Semiconductor Plant in Romania yet. Chinese wanted to come, but we didn't really trust them so much. Maybe one American Businessman gets the idea to do it 😛 Ill show him how to get almost free energy from our Hydro unused plants :)) kidding
One of my childhood neighbors was a family dairy farm, but land values in East Coast US states and related labor costs generally drove most such farms out of business decades ago.
Better do them in Romania than China or taiwan.
Oh i see
Land here is quite cheap. And for an American investor, he could get it for free from the Government since Romania and the US have a unilateral free standing agreemant that is not under EU regulation.
It is called the Romanian-American Strategic Partnership.
For example: If some dude from Apple decides to make a company in Transilvanya he'll get free land as much as he needs, just create jobs. And pay like 1% taxes. Than export it all over the world and Europe
And Romania has a lot of software specialists. I mean in Silicon Valley Romanian is the 2nd spoken language after Indian 😄
A lot of people speak English around here. We learn it from the 1st grade. English and French. But also German some of us
Hindi by Indian immigrants? India has several languages that vary regionally.
Oh yea. I meant we got a lot of IT experts
