A few thousands castles and historical sites dating back 500+ years ago. I think the oldest settlement documented on paper is 2600 years ago. But there are some other cave engraving 6000+ years ago

I think this area was the most fortified in the World because it was protecting Europe from the Asian Barbarians. The Thracians , which are the ancestors of Romanian people fought against Darius the Great and defeated the Persian Empire when they set off to conquer europe. In 530 BC, Queen Tomyris defetead Darius. If she had lost, than whole Europe would have been just a big Iran. Some say it was the most important and decisive battle in the human civilisation so far. 2500 years ago

John Sigismund has a big Statue in Cluj. Cluj is the most important city of Transylvania from an economical standpoint. It also has some streets named after him. He is regarded as a hero cause he borke a peace with turks and befriended with Suleiman (the Turkish sultan) . Basically he was the peace guy.
