T2, the Bible is about real things. You just reject it.

You have no idea what the world was like in 2000 BC

I have no doubt it’s about real things

The Quran is about real things

There are real things in Greek mythology

But there’s no evidence to back up the claims in the Bible

I mean do you really believe in genesis

The evidence is there if you start acting it out.

Read the entire bible, and notice God's character, and notice how Christ EMBODIES it. Then try to live that way. And fail miserably, because you can't do it 😛 -- but the evidence is there.

A child who never opens his eyes can navigate the world, but in a very limited way.

Imagine if a blind child said "I'm not going to believe there's ice cream on the table until you can give me evidence" -- with Ice cream, I can shove it in your face. With Christ, I can't.

Meaning is in between you and the truth. It's EMBODIED truth

Try to live out the character of truth; it's a phenomenal challenge. That's the lesson of the bible. That there is a truth, and that you can act it out

And like a surfer riding the waves, you'll make it to shore. Or you can fight the waves. You;ll learn a lot fighting it though

JP I enjoy your view and enjoy listening to you and talking to you about everything else. But I can’t believe you have this view. Religious views are so obviously frauds and false and can be easily disproven. It’s a pathetic belief. I’m sorry to offend you if it does but it is so pathetic to have to take all these jumps and go through all these obstacles to believe in such an obviously false religions ( all religions are obviously false)

I know you can't believe it. Me 5 years ago wouldn't either, which sounds exactly like the kind of things Christians would say to me and I hated them for it. Condescending pricks 😉

For me it's all predicated on the belief and understanding that there is ONE Truth (we all share it) and that lying about that truth is bad.

The rest followed, after many years of a meetup i hosted around Jordan Peterson's work, of all people. He's not even a Christian, but he certainly turned me toward Christ

It basically became a general philosophy meet. Twice a week

There was one guy who was a Christian there, the rest were atheists, or some sort of "spiritual" like buddhist. I argued with all of them

The Christian never convinced me, he only showed me how what I was saying was already covered in the bible. I thought I was discovering aspects of reality that were unaccounted for. Nope.

In Christian terms, the Holy Spirit was working in me. In more secular terms, my drive for Truth led me there. You need to ask yourself if you're actually seeking Truth or not. People use this term "my truth" -- i never cared about my truth. If anything, I wanted MY TRUTH to be aligned with THE TRUTH

If you believe there is a "The Truth" -- then please do what you can to make your truth align with it. I'm confident that will lead you to what I and many call Christ

Read the Bible and try to salvage all the Truth from it you can. Treat everything like that, and a pattern will emerge
