T2, the Bible is about real things. You just reject it.

You have no idea what the world was like in 2000 BC

2020-10-01 19:27:23 UTC

I have no doubt it’s about real things

2020-10-01 19:27:30 UTC

The Quran is about real things

2020-10-01 19:27:38 UTC

There are real things in Greek mythology

2020-10-01 19:27:51 UTC

But there’s no evidence to back up the claims in the Bible

2020-10-01 19:27:58 UTC

I mean do you really believe in genesis

2020-10-01 19:28:01 UTC

The evidence is there if you start acting it out.

2020-10-01 19:28:31 UTC

What

2020-10-01 19:28:32 UTC

Read the entire bible, and notice God's character, and notice how Christ EMBODIES it. Then try to live that way. And fail miserably, because you can't do it 😛 -- but the evidence is there.

2020-10-01 19:28:48 UTC

A child who never opens his eyes can navigate the world, but in a very limited way.

2020-10-01 19:28:50 UTC

It's a lot like that

2020-10-01 19:28:55 UTC

The hell are you talking about

2020-10-01 19:29:05 UTC

You are saying nothing yet saying so much at the same time

2020-10-01 19:29:19 UTC

Imagine if a blind child said "I'm not going to believe there's ice cream on the table until you can give me evidence" -- with Ice cream, I can shove it in your face. With Christ, I can't.

2020-10-01 19:29:23 UTC

Let’s just start with genesis

2020-10-01 19:29:25 UTC

It's like trying to explain color to the blind

2020-10-01 19:29:31 UTC

You can't "just start with genesis"

2020-10-01 19:29:32 UTC

Great quote:

2020-10-01 19:29:32 UTC

Do you believe genesis is 100 percent true

2020-10-01 19:29:50 UTC

“You have to read the beginning as if it’s also influenced by the end.”

2020-10-01 19:30:17 UTC

We are in a story that has a beginning and an end

2020-10-01 19:30:23 UTC

Life mirrors this

2020-10-01 19:30:34 UTC

It's amazing how recursive it is.

2020-10-01 19:30:53 UTC

Human life, mankind, civilizations, companies, marriages. They all start and end (marriages end when you die)

2020-10-01 19:31:11 UTC

Why would all of mankind not follow the same pattern. I bbet you believe it. THe sun will explode or something

2020-10-01 19:31:24 UTC

The sun will explode, and what will ALL OF THIS have meant?

2020-10-01 19:31:37 UTC

JP

2020-10-01 19:31:39 UTC

Meaning is in between you and the truth. It's EMBODIED truth

2020-10-01 19:32:06 UTC

Try to live out the character of truth; it's a phenomenal challenge. That's the lesson of the bible. That there is a truth, and that you can act it out

2020-10-01 19:32:29 UTC

And like a surfer riding the waves, you'll make it to shore. Or you can fight the waves. You;ll learn a lot fighting it though

2020-10-01 19:33:31 UTC

JP I enjoy your view and enjoy listening to you and talking to you about everything else. But I can’t believe you have this view. Religious views are so obviously frauds and false and can be easily disproven. It’s a pathetic belief. I’m sorry to offend you if it does but it is so pathetic to have to take all these jumps and go through all these obstacles to believe in such an obviously false religions ( all religions are obviously false)

2020-10-01 19:35:11 UTC

I know you can't believe it. Me 5 years ago wouldn't either, which sounds exactly like the kind of things Christians would say to me and I hated them for it. Condescending pricks 😉

2020-10-01 19:36:17 UTC

For me it's all predicated on the belief and understanding that there is ONE Truth (we all share it) and that lying about that truth is bad.

The rest followed, after many years of a meetup i hosted around Jordan Peterson's work, of all people. He's not even a Christian, but he certainly turned me toward Christ

2020-10-01 19:36:58 UTC

It basically became a general philosophy meet. Twice a week

2020-10-01 19:37:26 UTC

There was one guy who was a Christian there, the rest were atheists, or some sort of "spiritual" like buddhist. I argued with all of them

2020-10-01 19:37:51 UTC

The Christian never convinced me, he only showed me how what I was saying was already covered in the bible. I thought I was discovering aspects of reality that were unaccounted for. Nope.

2020-10-01 19:38:20 UTC

We’re like the opposite lol I went to a Christian school for 8 years and was totally devoted now I’m an absolute atheist non believer

2020-10-01 19:38:35 UTC

In Christian terms, the Holy Spirit was working in me. In more secular terms, my drive for Truth led me there. You need to ask yourself if you're actually seeking Truth or not. People use this term "my truth" -- i never cared about my truth. If anything, I wanted MY TRUTH to be aligned with THE TRUTH

2020-10-01 19:39:29 UTC

If you believe there is a "The Truth" -- then please do what you can to make your truth align with it. I'm confident that will lead you to what I and many call Christ

2020-10-01 19:39:52 UTC

Read the Bible and try to salvage all the Truth from it you can. Treat everything like that, and a pattern will emerge
