Because I’m not sure how pierced ear really affect well being

2020-07-22 21:10:33 UTC

Well it hurts isn't that enough

2020-07-22 21:10:42 UTC

I had it done as a 10 Yr old through medical .....not religious reasons! It was successful

2020-07-22 21:10:58 UTC

No

2020-07-22 21:11:00 UTC

Circumcision has been shown to increase chance of HIV but decrease HPV and Herpes. I’d rather have the latter

2020-07-22 21:11:22 UTC

Spanking hurts too

2020-07-22 21:11:37 UTC

And should not be done imo

2020-07-22 21:11:38 UTC

Yeah my only qualm is that I’ve seen conflicting data on health benefits and risks

2020-07-22 21:11:59 UTC

If that data wasn’t conflicting I wouldn’t be arguing atm

2020-07-22 21:12:17 UTC

I cant believe you are unsure about cutting baby dicks seems like a no brainer to me

2020-07-22 21:14:57 UTC

We cut umbilical cords too

2020-07-22 21:15:09 UTC

Those are meant to come off

2020-07-22 21:15:20 UTC

Not the same at all

2020-07-22 21:15:24 UTC

If it’s demonstrated to be harmful I got no problem

2020-07-22 21:15:27 UTC

That all

2020-07-22 21:15:41 UTC

The cord cut don't hurt and is necessary

2020-07-22 21:15:59 UTC

It hurts thats all you need

2020-07-22 21:17:13 UTC

So a parent is never allowed to cause their child any pain for any reason

2020-07-22 21:17:16 UTC

The umbilicus doesn’t have pain receptors that lead to the child as far as I know, otherwise every time they kick it in the womb they’d be like “ouchies”

2020-07-22 21:17:19 UTC

What about vaccine shots?

2020-07-22 21:17:48 UTC

Vaccines are not an amputation

2020-07-22 21:18:07 UTC

I’m referring specifically to wardawgs argument about causing pain

2020-07-22 21:19:41 UTC

Robert Baker estimated 229 deaths per year from circumcision in the United States. Bollinger estimated that approximately 119 infant boys die from circumcision-related each year in the U.S. (1.3% of all male neonatal deaths from all causes). There are several case reports of death in the medical literature.

2020-07-22 21:20:15 UTC

But that is due to botched surgeries right? Not procedures successfully carried out right?

2020-07-22 21:20:36 UTC

I’m mostly concerned about STD and hygiene stuff

2020-07-22 21:20:49 UTC

But is potentially killing your child worth the benefits we aren’t sure even exist?

2020-07-22 21:21:21 UTC

You potentially kill ur child whenever u decide to take an airplane ride

2020-07-22 21:21:35 UTC

I thought I just said there were some benefits?

2020-07-22 21:23:29 UTC

Any study showing benefits is subject to both consideration and scrutiny, there are also those that show no benefits. That’s why we cannot be certain.

2020-07-22 21:24:17 UTC

Do we know there are health downsides to a successfully executed circumcision?

2020-07-22 21:26:18 UTC

That’s a bit of a trick question. If we automatically assume it was “successful” we are assuming no mistakes were made, but a common problem of all circumcisions for one is sexual dullness.

2020-07-22 21:26:40 UTC

Okay. That’s a downside

2020-07-22 21:26:53 UTC

Do we know there are good sides to a botched circumcision?

2020-07-22 21:27:00 UTC

?

2020-07-22 21:27:20 UTC

See how the reverse seems absurd

2020-07-22 21:38:07 UTC

Is **SUPER** very NSFW content allowed here?

\*since you're talking about botches and "if it's worth the risk"

2020-07-22 21:38:33 UTC

I realize botches are bad

2020-07-22 21:38:38 UTC

I can look it up myself

2020-07-22 21:39:01 UTC

I don't know if you can find this particular image anymore...

2020-07-22 21:39:02 UTC

I’m saying that just because botches exist doesn’t mean that the entire thing should be thrown out

2020-07-22 21:39:12 UTC

I’m playing devils advocate rn
