I live in serious adversity so I take an Epicurean Viewpoint a live moment to moment
@Deleted User
If I get to where I can't enjoy people and what physical Pleasures I can have I will choose not to live. I just haven't reached a point without some form of pleasure
@tom so by physical pleasure I'm assuming you mean pleasure related to the senses?
> So is there a meaning to life?
@Deleted User we have to find meaning for ourselves.
There is nothing else then our senses. Everything when you see feel taste and touch is a construct of the Mind. One day my pleasure maybe just overcoming myself
We all play games with ourselves. Think about the willful suspension of disbelief it takes to enjoy theater. Games games games
@tom and of what sense would the pleasure of overcoming yourself fall under?
I think that we need to find things that make us feel fulfilled while also maximizing wellbeing for ourselves and those around us.
@Deleted User
The sense of ego or the ID possibly. Maybe you could help me understand I've never heard anyone else describe it properly
Wellbeing would not come anywhere near the equation. If I were searching for well being I would beg someone to shoot me now. My purpose and motivations come from somewhere else darker. Almost a vindictive purpose to prove others wrong sometimes totally in a vengeful way towards an idea or persons
@tom you are asking the wrong person. I'm still a baby when it comes to philosophy

@tom like you want to hurt people?
@m.miller Agreed. Those things are most important
Yeah in a bad way don't ever fuck with someone that has nothing to lose
> Yeah in a bad way don't ever fuck with someone that has nothing to lose
@tom yikes. Maybe you ought to reassess your moral foundation.
No I'm good I'm comfortable right where I'm at
I would suggest that you aren't properly applying skepticism.
I did not ask your advice
@m.miller I think everyone has something to lose.
This is an open forum.
> Granted do you agree with the satanic rules society from Anton LaVey
@tom I'm not familiar.
@tom Doesn't he promote the sacrice of children or was it just his mentor Crowley?
As long as I'm engaging in good faith (I am) I'm free to offer my opinion.
I can't find a disagreement amongst
Especially when I see immoral opinions.
@m.miller now I have a question what opinion do I have you think is immoral and why
@tom I think it's immoral to hurt people as you've described comfort with doing.
@m.miller
If I were wanting to hurt someone he would be because I thought it was necessary or pleasurable.
@m.miller have you ever killed an animal pulled skin off of it cooked it and eat it
Yes !
But not outside hunting season...
@tom Is this a serious conversation?
@m.miller no it doesn't count you need to have your hand on the blade. Rip its skin off of it cook it and have pleasure consuming it knowing full well you harmed it
There is something very personal with a blade.
What is happening???
What if I have pleasure doing that to myself? It's not ultimately going to maximize my wellbeing so I ought to resist doing so.
What is wellbeing?
