Noone claimed anything about free will only freedom of choice
And that is free will
Either it’s determined or it’s random
I’d really love to have a chat with any of you about the relationship between truth and corruption. Someone seemed to say that we can dismiss religion because it’s corruptible; but wouldn’t that mean all institutions trying to honor truth are corruptible?
That said, I have a framing on how to define “truth” that I want to explore, if anyone is down. On your channel or mine. I’m small, haven’t used my channel in a long time
@JPMcGlone I'm down for that.
That’d be a really interesting discussion to have, because the fact that all institutions corrupt is an observation that I point out often. I think listening to your ideas and engaging those would be fun, so hit me up
Always a pleasure guys.
i love same harris
@everyone The battlefield was very strategic today. Well done! Tomorrow the GUNS battlefield will be set... Love you all.
Wel now I’m just curious
Well
@ThePangburn i'm here cause Darth Dawkins mentioned you, did you talk to him?
Tom what do u unbox?
I think his box is full of bullshit
Darth Dawkins sycophants never cease to amaze me
What are we debating ?
Sounded like a morality discussion to me the same old same old
Objectivity does not exist at a deeper level. However, even if we suppose it exists, it reffears to "something" that is reductible to an object. And every object has form , thus at least 2 dimensions.
I strongly disagree. Because in an "absolutely objective" universe , no decision is possible.
Decision are derived from consciousness through intentionality. An objective universe (by objective we understand independent of conscious perception) would render decision making imposiible
@everyone Check out the new upload on YOUTUBE! <#733748197574312011>https://youtu.be/Pv_tDhsT-5k
I think the Discussion needs a Moderator or smthing
There is no thing as "needless suffering". Objectively. Although Objectivity does not exist heh? 😄
You refer to objectivity on a single absolute level? Or ar there more levels of objectivity and morality ?
Trying to reach objective morality = Trying to distance yourself from conscious perception as far away as you can.
But that is impossible when you reach a certain point.
The extent of consequences of suffering cant make the difference between needed and needless suff
Or can it?
Needless Suff = Useless suff ?
So if well-being is being assumed to be the moral goal. If that goal is essentially taken on faith, isn’t the whole thing arbitrary?
Like I’m serious about this: if we’ll being is assumed as a goal, if it’s taken on faith, why is it any less arbitrary than religion
@Odiogn is this the study? https://k945.com/science-says-women-hold-grudges-longer-than-men/
Peterson has a good description on the different between men and women relating to this
