And family is important
I agree, it will work out. The amount of corruption in University Administration offices cannot go on.
Just moribund bloat
every time you back a stud loan, they raise tuition
institutions of man, not of learning
Yeah, the market has no backstop, it is non-stop ever increasing supply of money to inflate demand.
We have a debt to end
Bring the Jubilee
I appreciate the views and inside information you bring to discussions like these @platonic chain . it's hard for me to see the public school system as anything more than an expensive corrupt indoctrination machine with 0 alternatives.
and most of that is to welfare state. Everything needs to be in trust actual
The public school system is not a monolith. Remember, most public schools have their decisions made by LOCALLY ELECTED BOARDS.
like the MAJORITY of their decisions are on a local scale
Education system isn't wrong or evil, just a good thing corrupted, like so many.
The biggest thing you can do as a conscientious community member is attend school board meetings
I do have some really fantastic Public Schools TBH but I can't saddle and get fucked by your unions anymore, okay?
give them vouchers too
What works best is all I care about
Like you have no idea how much influence 8-10 people on a school board can make.
bring it to the local level, please
I am in a place of massive influence *JUST* because I have contact with the head of the school board, I am on the local CTE board, and am on a board at the local university for promoting STEM education in minority students.
STEM is also a corruptive vocational training program as I recall
and please pardon my language.
You will find hungry scammers everywhere. The board I'm a part of isn't a private thing. It's a publicly funded research program that is seeking to find the best intervention efforts to direct students into university programs for engineering, specifically.
Are they democrats?
I do not care, as long as they don't insert woke bullshit.
Republicans don't care about education for the most part
Charter schools and vouchers are proof you are accusing falsely
They'll complain about the education system but when it actually comes down to fixing the problems within the system they just *don't*. Sure they may offer alternatives but most of the time we were just told to sit and spin.
Charter schools and vouchers are a crapshoot. There's as many shitty charter schools as good ones. Hell, every year or so a racially woke charter school ends up getting outed for basically having neglected to teach kids how to read for 8 years of K-8.
At least that's how it was in my state
My hard drive made a time stamp 40 years ago, and here I AM today with evidence (or lack therof "Higher Education") in the ranks of any Federal Government Sponsored Program.
There was one school a few years back that infamously trained their kids to write complex looking equations.
But otherwise, just did bumfights
like seriously.
like in Brooklyn?
They couldn't even read.
No, this was like in the US South.
shit happens when you ask the market to solve problems lol
like in Brooklyn?
like in Detroit?
