@MIKE LEGEL Just for the sake of clarity, what are your credentials that allows you to summarily pass judgement?
@MIKE LEGEL Mike, as a Christian who has been involved with different Pentecostal, Baptist and other denominational 'churches' and had some striking experiences with supernatural events since 1973, I have come to the conclusion (my opinion) that it is best to err on the side of caution concerning those who either claim or are proclaimed to be prophets. Let them stand or fall on their own merits or demerits. Consider that sometimes it is within Gods purposes to allow them to stand for a time. The Old Testament prescription to stone false prophets is changed in the New Testament to shunning and avoiding such. On the other hand, there is plenty of false teaching coming across pulpits in everyday 'churches' that is, essentially more damaging to the body of Christ.
@Patriotski HE IS JUST EXPRESSING HIS OPINION. HE DOES NOT NEED "CREDENTIALS" TO DO SO. HE IS DOING WHAT WE ALL NEED TO DO AND THAT IS TRUST BUT VERIFY WITH ALL SOURCES. ALSO @Shadetree49 AMEN
THE ONLY ONE I WILL EVER BLINDLY FOLLOW IS THE TRINITY, FATHER, SON , AND HOLY GHOST!
I'm with Mike Legal on this, I really have a hard time believing any "prophet" who's not 100% correct and always has been-God is never wrong, if a 'prophet' is wrong they are not getting their intel from God...just sayin'.
I've suspected Clement of having inside intel and of being used to disseminate specific things to the Christian community for whatever reason. There is a plan, and it's been in motion for years. Giving him information ahead of events would get people to trust him, it's exactly like John Titor, he's an insider so gave details of coming events because he was on the planning committee. He appeared a 'time traveler'...
Now that I've pissed off a few folks....I ask a favor. 😄
Could you all join in praying for my guest last night? He has a grounding in Biblical teaching but is also being divided with other religious stuff, I pray for his Salvation. I hope you will also. Thank you!
@Cris It is, of course, perfectly fine, in fact essential, that you add your opinion to this discussion. As to your guest, I must confess I had to stop listening within a short time (a failing on my part perhaps). Praying for his salvation.
Sorry to bother y’all but if you can throw prayers I would very much appreciate it! I’m going back to the ER! When it comes to God doing anything with my health that is where my faith is the weakest!
I have a three category filter when it comes to Prophecy. It must fall into Edification, Exhortation or Comfort. Pretty much with any outward showing of the holy spirit. I contrast the holy spirit being in you and working on you to the outward expression to the body of Christ (the church).
Specific expression, such as word of wisdom/word of knowledge, revelations, prophecy and miracles should be for building up, moving you, and comforting you. This should get your attention. You need to see if it corresponds to what the Word says already can and should be done.
@kazzoo That's a pretty solid outlook. I think you might add warning, both to an individual or the Church as a whole, though that might fall under exhortation partly.
Thats the correspond part. I could tell you to go to Micky D and takeout all of the unbelievers with a feather and God told me to tell you this.
Even the Adversary can guess the future and be right sometimes. He did go at Jesus knowing if he commanded stones to bread it would happen. Or Jump off high places and get caught by angels and perhaps just give in to him and he could have all the earthly kingdoms. A sort of Prophecy, could come true. But I think it fails any of the tests.
Prophesy is supposed to be judged by the elders, i.e. tongues etc.
Yeah, the holy spirit can work in the man/woman without a external manifestation. You can speak in tongues to yourself and edify yourself. Speaking mysteries between you and God. Its the outward to the church that needs be examined and tested.
Obviously God is not going to tell you something contrary to His word.
you got it.
I kind of like apologetics and challenging error and worldviews.
I tend to be a pre-suppositionalist and a dispensationalist. Boils down to that there is specific times and people that those times apply to and that I start with the premise that God is true. Right from the top and not try to build from the bottom up.
I just try to follow every word of God, comparing scripture with scripture.
Evidences are really for the already believer for building of the faith. The non-believer has to get over his bias and world filter before anything else can get through.
A simple how do you know what you know? We as believers have a source outside of ourselves which can inform us. What does the non-believer have to ground or account for what they know?
Feeelings
and you can ask, Could you be wrong about anything and everything you know? Then how do you know that your feelings are accurate and correct?
The Greeks seek wisdom, the Jews seek a sign.
yes, you can see that the discussion completely would be completely out of the evidence route. You can speak all day about the history of Jesus, his actual existence, the eyewitnesses ect. Its much like putting Jesus on trial and letting them be a Judge if it is so. I dont think they have the qualifications to be that Judge from the outset.
Man cannot know unless God reveals Himself.
Right, so that person needs to realize that they dont know anything of themselves but already know God because they do know things.
Noy sure I follow that one.
I think is was Paul who wrote that even the heathens do things without benifit of the Prophets that the Jews had that were showing that they knew God in there actions.
I guess I'm getting a little bleary.
Knowing lying was wrong, stealing, false witness, murder ect and a bunch of what we call moral things.
OK I get it. Natural man seeing the right order of the universe.
yes, didnt get it from within themselves but from the outside in. It was there all the time and they discovered it.
Spiritual revelation changes the perspective from outside to inside because the Holy Spirit works from wiyhin
Yes, that is that worldview christians have. We can know things because we know him who know everything. He did promise to tell us things if we would ask. We dont have the I know because of my feelings and because of my feelings I know. (circle logic). We have him who we can ask.
We break the circle
Ours is more of a spiral, always leading to the center and emanating out from there
That and God created logic too. Logic will remain whether we are here or not to use it. Its out there to be discovered.
Man is much better at defeating logic than using it
Try this one on for size. We are spiritual beings currently having a human experience. This is a temporary condition.
Absolutely
