BAMBERG COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) -- SLED agents say they have arrested the chief of the Denmark Technical College Police and Security office in connection with sharing confidential identifying personal information of other people.

SLED says 49-year-old Elton Shuler was charged with public official use or disclosure of confidential information. They say the case was investigated at the request of the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles.

According to arrest warrants, Shuler allowed and facilitated the unlawful and improper release of driver license information, photographs and vehicle information to people who were not entitled to that information.

SLED says Shuler was booked at the Bamberg County Detention Center.
